Can I use this type of cable to connect my electric guitar to the left and right inputs of a stereo channel on my mixer. And get a normal level set signal out. When I connect to the left or right input with a single mono or stereo (TRS) cable I only get a very low level signal out. So far no-one and nowhere has been able to answer my question.
A guitar is naturally mono, so connecting by stereo isn't necessary. A standard guitar cable will suffice (TS to TS). The signal is naturally low from the instrument, so it needs boosting by plugging it into an input marked "instrument" on a mixer, or a standard input where you then turn the gain up so that you can hear the sound. I hope this helps.
Thanks for a reply, RMM. But I only have 8 channels on my mixer. 4 are mono 1/4" jack inputs and 4 are stereo left and right 1/4" jack inputs. What I need to know is if my first 4 channels are full for recording can I use a Y-cable for an electric guitar connected to my stereo channel left and right input jacks. As I said before if I use a single cable to my stereo channel input the output signal is too low.
