Yes….. i made my own audio RCA cables, using high quality satellite cable. Also with high quality plugs; slightly larger than the ones you are using. The cables themselves are not all that flexible ( quite stiff) because the inner core for the sound that travels through, is solid copper.. as opposed to stranded wire. And also, it’s shielded with copper braid ect. No soldering required. But the main thing is… it works. i very much prefer to use these cables for audio only.. as opposed to an HDMI cable. The solid copper core might be slightly thicker; so, better sound quality. Friday pm 4th August 2023. Southampton England 🏴
The copper wires inside of an HDMI cable, are a bit, on the thin side. But, Using high quality analog cables ( satellite cable) for audio seems a better option. ( I’m using the digital coaxial input) In the end.. you do end up with a better sound quality. It is very noticeable. It’s louder. ( i have tested). Tweaking the graphic equaliser, on my pioneer VSX 933… also, gives me a kind of different approach, or perspective.. to the music that i am listening too.. to suit my taste; especially if my amp is set up properly. Listening to music from RU-vid, on my Sony Bravia TV…. i really don’t have an option, but to use the HDMI cable for audio return. Tuesday 16th January 2024. Southampton England 🏴
Your not wrong but rca's are only unbalanced. Most xlr cables and 1/4 Jacks (has 2 black lines)or Trs cables are balanced use a negative and positive and ground. This cable was probably meant for that but he just combined it which shouldn't be an issue
When you have 4 different colors, the best way will be to combine the four into a set of 2. Now, choose which set will be your negative or positive. At this point, it doesn't matter which one is the negative or positive because you will use the same color sets for the other side. So, for example white and red together will make positive while the last 2 will be the negative.... negative will play as the ground that will flipped over and held down by the screw while the positive will go into the center pin of the rca plug
