Subtitles? Who needs subtitles when watching your videos? (Okay, some videos do require a bit of detail, but ...) Your ability to communicate and articulate via demonstration and hand signals is superb! You rank right up there with the best mime artists.
This is simply amazing! Why couldn't I think of such a simple idea before? Always being hesitant of building a rather complex route table, but this is simple yet effective! Thank you Sir!
Great, video, absolutely genius !👍 The simplest design I've ever seen but everything needed except a vacuum cleaner interface is there and it works like a charm. Love the box joint use case on the sliding table. Keep your simple, clean and thorough style of making videos, it is very clear, simple to follow even without subtitles!
This is an incredibly simple and intuitive design. Saves heaps on finding an expensive router table when you don’t have the space. That Makita router (DRT50z in Australia) is also my go to for most routing projects and my big 12mm/ ½ inch router stays in the bag. I am saving this and going to cobble on of these together. WELL DONE!
Brilliant how you have engineered a router table for a palm router/trimmer. Well done. Also well impressed with your 'push stick', although I have hardly used the correct word for it! Thank you for sharing.
Watching your clean, deliberate cuts and movements is like ASMR. Very clever router table as well. When you did the joints and the corner was perfect i had to pause to look at it. Impressive.
I use old bicycle innertubes. Cut them into half inch strips and close the ends with rubber cement (super glue works too). They'll last forever. Long after regular rubber bands deteriorate.
How nice that you kept everything clean with using a vacuum cleaner so often during your process. Very pleasing to see your projects . 😊 Thank you very much!
I love how simple his ideas are yet they work perfectly. Simple in a sense that he only uses 1 pivot point to get an adjustable range of straigt lines, but I can only think about way more complicated solutions that would probably not even work so well. I would never be able to think of something like this, it requires you to be very familiar with geometry to create something simple and perfectly effective.
Another simple yet versatile jig. I love your thinking. It's so efficient and minimalistic in form but brutally usuable! Thnx very much. No subtitles needed whatsoever! You are the master who let's his creative process do the talking for everyone to understand!
Brilliant! Thanks so much. So many videos out there showing how to make a mini router table..using a fancy big one. I so appreciate this first step, space saving table using simple tools, for those of us just starting. You're a hero.
Sir I take my hat off to you. I have just brought that exact trimmer and I need to carry out those exact types of work. Such a simple and elegant design. The algorithm gods have smiled upon me today. I have watched so many of this type of video and rarely have I been so impressed thanks so much 😉
Ah yes, I've used these a ton in my guitar shop.Sometimes I'll have my other two big router tables occupied with other projects so it's easier to just put one of these together, you can really do a lot with them, I use them primarily for cutting wood binding and routing all of the access cavity covers and pic guards for electric guitars.
this channel is rich with ideas, thoughtfully and artfully executed. the ideas are portable to many set-ups, even if you dont make the exact same jigs. the hold-down jig used here, but elaborated in another video, is especially brilliant, as is a pivoting fence, and other ideas suggestion for hole-sawing in wood or mdf: silicone lube is a superb 'cutting oil' that dramatically reduces friction, eliminates burning and extends blade life-- blade is only warm to touch immediately after use
I definitely want to make this as I don't care for the router table I bought years ago. I still use it, but don't really like it. If I can put together the two pieces of wood using the 90 degree angles that he did, then I'll have to go for doing dovetails next.
When the technique is mastered, the strudences, the fuss and the over acting are of more. That is what happens on this channel. It captivates you from the first video because what unfolds before you is the eloquence of knowledge and the mastery of technical mastery. Each video is a surprise that never disappoints. Since I saw the first one, I am hooked on this channel. Those who really know are instantly captivating. Thanks Jisaku.
It’s captivating. I’m sick of the over caffeinated “Xtreem” douchebros yammering on, while doing undisclosed promotions for tool manufacturers. I’ve been thinking about doing a parody, “The Adderall Wood Bro”, but I don’t think I can maintain the shtick for long enough.
Your design, job aids, safety tips, step-by-step exposition and the video presentation are perfect. Perfect. Your art has reached its very highest pinnacle in every regard. It is so refreshing (and educational) to see a master at work. Thank you!
Superb video, I had planned to build a more complex table for my Makita but this will do everything I want it to and stow away more easily in my small workshop. Thank you, great job. Particularly like the box joint jig.
I am not so sure. I have some MDF boards and they tend to bend as time goes on if there is moisture or pressure on them. I would try to reinforce it beneath somehow.
Hello JSK, as always your home tools are excellent. Congratulations and thanks for showing your skills. I'm going to manufacture it, and I hope it goes well. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina
Fantastic idea :-) would really appreciate some measurements. Im new to woodworking so any help would be great. Ive a Ryobi palm router and ive been looking for a table to use with it and saw your video. Brilliant
I really like the discipline you have in keeping your fingers away from rotating blades and cutters. Other wood workers and wood working channels should pay attention to your techniques.
My first time seeing a JSK-koubou video. This is surely a meticulous, step by step (no hurrying) video which I can learn a lot from without hurrying. Many thanks & am looking forward to more JSK videos.
Waow ! ! !, total newby here, that bought one big trimmer for years now that I still never used, and was searching how to use it under table. Perfect for me. Thank You.
Absolutely brilliant design. I saw a few methods here I'd never previously seen. Japanese woodworking approaches always amaze me with their elegant approach to precise construction.
So much options from the scratch with low money and material. A must for every beginner. I love the Makita 0700 router. Fantastic tool at reasonable costs.
Worth it just to see how the sliding fence was made....Very simple. Just like Bob and Rick from “The Router Workshop”,,,,Thank you... This one is being saved....
Thanks a lot for such a simple and fully functional table. I am thinking about something like it for my portable workbench. I have a very good model at yours now.
So simple. I will definitely try this! I wonder if you could combine those 2 fences into 1 by routing out that section from the back of the sliding fence (first fence you made) and just clamping down on other side of router bit when you need it.
