If you want to add your air conditioner to HomeKit (or any smart system really) you wanna check out this episode where I try out Sensibo Air - which turned out to be an amazingly easy to use tool to teach any old AC some new tricks.
"It defaults to Celsius, which is unfortunate" gee I wonder why they would default to Celsius. They ship worldwide and 192 countries use Celsius and 3 use Fahrenheit
If only there was some way for my phone to know what country I was in and adjust to local standards accordingly. Some sort of positioning system. A GLOBAL Positioning System maybe?! Oh, one thing at a time. (Your comment was also unfortunate)
@@TechSpank Yeah I'm sorry I came after you and your comment like that. It should have sounded like a banter but looking back at it now it doesn't look like it. And obviously you have nothing to do with the US stubbornly using the imperial system
So this needs an ac with the remote. What if my ac doesn't have remote at all. All manual switches. I have seen this done with a small kit. Any guess where I can find this kit with a small remote for manual ac.
Hey buddy, thanks for your video, I'm trying to turn my old ac to a Smart Ac but I don't have the remote control anymore... Do you know if I'm going to be able to do it?
Neat, but I cannot see spending $130 to get a function that a newer $300 AC would have. I suppose if I already had a great window AC without the feature that I didn't want to get rid of, this would be a perfect product.
That’s useless imo, you can only turn it on or off. This lets you set the temperature and cooling modes too I think. And you can use Siri too as it’s got HomeKit supoort
