I think this is the most detailed video on making arepas I've ever seen. The Venezuelan portion of my family didn't pass down the secrets, thanks for sharing!
OMG!! I love it!! arepas!! I'm from Colombia, and I live in Netherlands. You made my day!! I have used your tips for traveling, but I never thought that you also cook recipes from my country...and so well, congratulations!!
Harina P.A.N is a traditional product of Venezuelan gastronomy, the Alimentos Polar factory patented this product since 1960, only with the diaspora it installed factories in the US, Italy, Argentina, Spain and distributes it in 60 countries around the world.
Girl, you nailed it! I'm Venezuelan and I tried to find a simple video to explain to my not venezuelan friend who can't memorize my "live" tutorial, and you got it. Not too much talking, even venezuelan are blahblahblah 🙄🙄🙄. Not too much weird ingredients, or weird procedures, just basic, simple and detailed, just like any regular venezuelan do their own arepas 💜💜💜. Thank you!!
I managed to get PAN harina in Perth (Western Australia) in a shop and made arepas last weekend. They were lovely, my husband and I really enjoyed them. Will make them again :) Thanks for sharing xx
Arepas are from Venezuela, arepa is one of the most important food in the venezuelan kitchen, they can be eaten as breakfast or dinner, they're delicious! 🇻🇪
I'm a Franco-Colombian girl, and I can say, if I weren't Latina, you would have given me the envy to buy this P.A.N harina and to make delicious arepas!! ;)
Hi S, Let me get this straight - You travel the world, have a keen eye for fashion, and you're magic in the kitchen..... What can I say except BRAVO !!!
hey sonia, I have recently been obsessed with your videos. I am going to be going to have a three week trip to NYC and Florida this July, two weeks in NYC and 1 week in Florida. I wonder if you can make a video about how to pack your suitcase to save enough space for the stuff I will be bringing back, like the souvenirs and new clothes and stuff? I hope you understand and see this. English is not my first language.
Here! I'm from Venezuela too :) i've been following u for ages XD cool vid. My boyfriend is from Chile (they dont eat arepas there such a shame) I eat them as u did they but without the oven part and he eats them fried with a lot of avocado. My grandma used to make arepitas dulces you should try those too. Sooooo in the oven, deepfried, and sweet arepas, there you have it 2 other ways to eat harina p.a.n :)
Thank you so much for this recipe! I've been dying to try this and now I have a good starting point. Thank you! Btw, when you are done frying you put them in the oven while the rest is cooking? Or to finish cooking them? If so, how long? Thank you!!
I had an arepa for the first time in Miami and it was deliciously life changing! Have been craving one ever since! Thanks for sharing!! :) love you videos btw.
Hi Sonia! I am going to Brazil, São Paulo soon for 22 days. It's going to be around 50 degrees, a little cold. But I'll probably just be going out on long walks and spend time with my family. Do you have any tips I can use to pack for 22 days?
OMG Sonia you are my favourite you-tuber ever and you have some great ideas. I am obsessed with travel and you can make it that much better!!! ILYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSM
You're making arepas like a venezuelan pro!. I make them all the time at home but today I learned the "industrialized" trick. LOL. I always flatten them by hand until now.
Hi Sonia! I recently went on 2 trips within 3 weeks and on BOTH trips I ended up getting really bad colds and was in bed most of the trip. Do you have any tips to boost your immunity in preparation for a flight so I don't get sick at my destination?
Awesome! I'm not much of a cook but I think even "I" can handle this! Lol…love your videos Sonia! Are they eaten hot out of the oven or is it ok if they have cooled down? Would love to hear from anyone who enjoys them!
I would put pulled pork in one, melted cheese in another and peanut butter in another one. I bet they would even taste good with just melted butter. Yum
how adorable !* she's so charming and nice! not to mention accurate with the recipe showing all the details.. way to go! all my foreigners friends ask me for the recipe, and from now on I'm just going to send them this Link. Bella !
I love your videos. It has really made me feel better prepared for my upcoming study abroad trip. However, I do have a question: do you know where I can find an international plane ticket for $800? See, I have everything together except for the plane ticket and I need a little help.
Im look for advice on starting my own travel blog! What filming equipment do you use? how did you find carrying it in your backpack? do you have specific video editing software? thanks for any information you can give :) Loving your channel right now!
soniastravels I really hope that means you are going offer up some advice! I have only been back in the U.S for just over a month after 5 months in Salamanca, Spain. I tend to feel homesick for Salamanca and well traveling on the weekends.
I like my arepas spicy because I’ve noticed how many latin American cuisines other than Mexican tend to be less spicy and I have an Asian tastebuds(I’m Korean ofc), so I just like mines spicy as in my kind of level
Hi it apoeares 5 yrs have passed but ill ask anyways. I've seen this made with milk and or water. Please let me know if you have tried both and the difference. Thanks
Keri Xianne I don't know if you've had your question answered but I thought I'd do it anyway 😊; no, you can't use regular tortilla flour because they are made differently. P.A.N. flour (or any corn flour that is specifically produced for arepas) is pre-cooked corn meal, while other corn flours are not, hope that helps!
