You didn't say what you did with the pieces you broke off. Many people throw them away, but you can put them in a freezer bag for later use. While they're too tough and stringy to eat, they are still packed with flavor and can be added to soups, gravies, stews and even rice to give an extra bit of flavor to those dishes.

I started eating them 15 years ago I used to hate them and now they are one of my favorite vegetable I now have my 2 daughters eating them im working slowly on the granddaughters on eating them

It's great to roast asparagus with a little olive oil, salt&pepper in a 425 degree oven until it's just a little brown. It comes out a bit crunchy and a bit soft inside. The big, plump asparagus works best!

Now, i cant get enough of it and buy it when its on sale, usually in the spring..i also have access to a farm where i can pick them in the warmer spring months .and its in your hometown of VA beach Ms.Chris..lol.. They also freeze nice too!
Queeniknowhoiam I felt the same exact way about it. LOL I visited this restaurant called Swan Terrace in Virginia Beach and it was cooked perfectly there. I instantly fell in love with it and I've been cooking it ever since! :-)

Queeniknowhoiam Absolutely! Swan Terrace is on the campus of CBN. It's in the Founders Inn hotel downstairs. It's a lovely place just to have brunch or even to have an event. :-)

Chris , I had some delicious salmon patties with potatoes O'Brien in them ,made the very crispy & delicious. Would you please make video making salmon croquettes (patties) (however you make them )
My mother used to punish me for not eating the soggy asparagus that she prepared for me and my brothers when were children. About ten years ago, I started baking asparagus al dente. I will have to try the lemon juice and parmesan cheese additions. Thanks for a great recipe.

I wished I seen this video before going to the store I would have done this recipe I'm trying to figure out away to make one im always using salt pepper onion powder garlic powder mince garlic and cut up onion I want something different I love your videos I've also tried several of your dishes delicious

Basically there cooked like green beans. I like butter better than oil. It goes into the Asparagus. Also i like onions, garlic, pink salt, sesame seeds, parmesan cheese, and bacon bits, in mine, can use wine if you got it, Or a vinegar wine if you got it
