For the woody ends of the asparagus you can just peel the outside woody part and the inside will be tender when you cook it so you don't have to cut it off. Just peel the ends

Great video Gina! Like you and your husband I didn’t grow up eating Asparagus, except the canned and it was Awful! I didn’t eat the fresh until the 1980’s when my co-workers, who later became my best friends, recommended it and I have been eating it ever since! I love how you did it with the five pieces of Asparagus. Smithfield Bacon is my favorite as well. Thanks for sharing Gina.

I have been waiting on a new asparagus recipe. Kathy loves the one that you started with. She could eat it every day. She is going to flip for this new one. On the first one that you did I switched the oil for some Italian dressing. It really was good also. I can not wait for her to try this one.

Ms Gina, put the ends in your compost bin or into you stock pot. Beef bone stock, look up the recipe on Mary's Nest. Bone broth is very healthy.

My mother didn’t cook asparagus while I was growing up either. She cooked greens and spinach. The only time I ever had asparagus was at a steakhouse.

Ya got me hooked on asparagus a while back. Looking forward to trying these. An interesting fact about this vegetable is that the asparagusic acid in asparagus produces many sulfurous byproducts that can give urine a rotten-like smell. The smell can be detected as early as 15 minutes after eating and may last up to 14 hours. However, not everyone produces the smell, and the majority of people can’t smell it due to a specific genetic modification. Me, I can tell right away that I've eaten it. But when you cook it Gina Young style.... it's worth it :)

Gina have you ever tried Calder’s premium Eggnog? You can get it at specialty grocery stores like Bush’s. I see and Kroger sells it. It is so rich and creamy that I put it in my KitchenAid Ice Cream with Heavy Whipping Cream and it makes the best Ice Cream or have a glass with a little rum. Yum!

That looks so good got a question for you how do you make asparagus without making it to go soft and it still stays crunchy no matter what I do my asparagus always becomes chewy and soggy what message do you do say it was still stay firm and crunchy
