It kinda became a genre back in 2018 when someone(Most likely Pagefire guys, but you never know) created a channel called Backpedal Music. And not only that, all videos on that channell were actually uploaded in 2018.

I forgot today was April fools. Having said that, metal is so convoluted that this is kinda believable. Varg double selling his music, the guys burning down the court and it all getting removed. Sounds black metal.

This reminds me of a trick that my old industrial band used to do live for the ending of our gigs. We would start recording the last song live, right out of the mixer, in Audacity, then play a bunch of random noise while we flipped the audio backward. We would then fade the song back in... but it was the last song we played... only backward. And we would play on top of it, adding all kinds of noise, synths, guitars, and sounds. It was a fun trick to do and it sounded amazing because it would just flood the place with strange noise.

First, kidnap a black metal band of your choosing. Have the band be hypnotized and order them to play their songs in reverse and break their bones in the process. Alternative route from hypnotism I’d say pay some demons with the bands to possess them and then have them do it.
