This recipe is SO EASY and SO DELICIOUS! It has been my go to recipe for banana bread for over 10 years. Yes it has sugar in it, but it is also packed with nutrition because I always make it with organic whole wheat flour. Sometimes I cut the sugar in half and it still taste really good, but for this video I kept the recipe original:) My kids and husband love it! I make this a couple times a month, and I usually make a double batch because we eat it so quickly! The recipe is below. Happy homesteading!
Banana Bread Ingredients:
-1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick)
-1 cup brown sugar
-1 egg
-3 or 4 very ripe bananas (I usually use 5)
-2 cups flour (I use whole wheat)
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon vanilla (I use 1 tablespoon because I like a stronger vanilla flavor)
Optional 1 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 or 1 cup of nuts (walnuts are really good in this!)
Make it:
-Melt the butter and add all other ingredients except for the optional ones (chocolate and nuts). Mix well.
-Then add in the chocolate chips and nuts if you want them and fold them in.
-Pour into a butter lines baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 60-80 minutes.
-Enjoy!
