What is kasha and the other item you mentioned just after it?

Kasha and Gentian are both plants. They’re used as an ingredients to give the “bitter flavor” to your bitters.

What other alternative can I use instead of rum? I do not use run,never have,never will.

You can use any high proof spirit in its place. I find brown spirits like whiskey fit best with these ingredients, but you can also try a high proof neutral spirit like a vodka or Everclear.
