Nido is much loved in Brazil (where it’s called “Ninho”), and it’s used as flavouring in desserts (like brigadeiro, or whipped cream) or even as a topping for frozen açaí. I guess it sounds unusual to use milk powder as a flavouring but Nido’s flavour is pretty distinct, and we love it.

@@emmymade we even put it on avocados with crunchy demerara sugar and eat it straight from the fruit. Some people like to mix it with Nutella, since the nutty flavor complements the gentle toastiness from the milk, but I find this mixture way too sweet and sticky lol. But really you can find any dessert here with Ninho, from chocolate chip cookies with a creamy Ninho filling to Chantininho (ninho added to heavy cream/cool whip, from “Chantilly” + ninho) to coffee that you add the powder so you don’t water it down by adding liquid milk…

So the whole milk powder immediately brought to mind the mozzarella cheese you made with the fat free (I think?) milk powder, and I remember you saying that it didn't have as rich a flavor as it could have. Would you consider making the powdered milk mozzarella again to see the difference using the whole milk powder?

Hi Emmy!!! This is a great video (like many instructional videos you’ve done where you’re trying out products and or (like in this case) trying to make recipes work by using alternative ingredients/methods. This is a great video because it helps people know that they can use Another method of making their own food(s); in this case butter from powdered whole 4% milk. Which is a good option (especially in today’s day in age with what’s been going on in the World). These videos you do are so helpful because it helps many who watch, or in my case listen with descriptive;- you are helping people understand that there’s MORE THAN ONE WAY how to make certain foods. All it takes is a little patience, open minded-ness (I hope that’s a suitable word lol!!), little bit of elbow-grease, focus, and a whole lotta heart ❤️ And Voila!!! ✨🌻☀️🤗✨ the possibilities are indeed endless!! 😊🎶👍 As Always, this is a great video!! Depends on where you live as to what is cheaper. I’m in Trinidad in the Caribbean. Here the butter costs about $8 U.S. per lb., while coconut oil costs about $20 U.S. per gallon. Margarine is cheap, usually about $1.50 U.S. for half a pound, but it’s made by the same company that makes soap (Unilever) and I don’t trust it. We have milk in quart boxes (like juice boxes) for about $2 U.S., and there is a lot of powdered milk available. (I don’t know off-hand how much the powdered milk costs, I don’t usually purchase it).
@MimiYuYu
@MimiYuYu 3 года назад
@@karenramnath9993 my family is from Trinidad! Well here in the US I just paid $3 for 8oz of European style butter- on sale. 8oz is equal to 2 sticks of butter. So it equals $6 for 4 sticks of butter. The national name brands are about that price. And the store brand is about $4.50. As for shelf life- butter is freezable. And if you were to freeze it I would wrap it with wax paper and then put them in a sealed bag. Otherwise it will absorb any odors from the freezer.
@karenramnath9993
@karenramnath9993 3 года назад
@@MimiYuYu I do freeze the butter! 😂 right after Christmas when it goes on sale I buy up as much as I can afford and into the freezer it goes! I look for salted rather than unsalted, as the unsalted is sometimes a bit rancid. I grew up eating Rabbit candy because my friend was Japanese and her mother taught Japanese culture classes to the neighborhood kids for fun. I will always overdo it when I see a bowl of these candies.

Nido is a nice product. There are a couple different types of it. You can get a really big can for about 15 bucks. You can definitely use it to richen up a milkshake. there are some versions of it that are highly fortified with extra vitamins and minerals.

Great video as always Emmy! The butter pic (1:38) you put up at the beginning looks like Velveeta. 😂
