Hopscotch anyone? Making your own sidewalk chalk is a simple, fun and economical. Kin Parents Producer Robert Mahar created this kid-friendly tutorial to encourage imaginative play and brighten your walkways!

Materials and Tools:
plaster of paris
tempera paint
water
plastic cups
plastic knife
flexible ice cube tray
Directions:
1. Mix plaster of paris and water according to product packaging instructions in a plastic cup until smooth, cream like consistency is achieved.
2. Add tempera paint for color, mix until combined and desired color is achieved.
3. Spoon mixture into flexible ice cube trays and smooth with a plastic knife
4. Allow to dry overnight and then gently press out of the trays.
