Amazing Easter egg chocolate sculptures that you can make at home. Turn a shop bought easter egg into a food art sculpture. Using real chocolate turned into clay. No moulds, no tempering, no specialist equipment so you can make this as you #StayHome and craft #WithMe during this #Covid-19Easter
And no modelling chocolate. So this actually tastes good as well as looking amazing!
I just use a shop bought easter egg, some chocolate, a food processor and my hands.
This is the link to my other tutorial site: www.sarahhardymakes.com
Please enjoy having a go and let me know what you think.
This is my second video tutorial and I really would like to know how to improve so tell me what you would like more of.

This is such an interesting technique Sarah, and your Octopus is soo cute! I had a go yesterday with Milk choc callebaut , but I think I was too eager and put too much in and it went sandy then never went to clay. I will try again with two handfuls. Love your work and hope you are still creating your special magic edible art! Do you know how one would make it in bigger batches? I have been trying to research how Amaury Guichon makes his clay that I think is mixed in a thermomix before applying to his magnificent sculptures on a bigger scale? many thanks for your help Jen

Wow amazing . Can i ask you about the chocolate ! 1- Does it has to contain cocoa butter?! or compound chocolate will work ?! 2- how can i color it ?! Gel food or oil based colors ?! 3-can i spray it with chocolate velor?! Thank you so much for the tutorial 😍❤️❤️
@theediblemuseum
@theediblemuseum 2 года назад
Thank you! I’ve never worked with chocolate that didn’t contain cocoa butter so am afraid I can’t help you there. Chocolate can be coloured with specialist cocoa colours for ease- check out chocolate supply shops You can try spraying, id definitely recommend always experimenting and trying things out - again that’s something I have used though.

Hey, how long does it take to set up/how long can I take to shape with the chocolate clay. Wondering how fast I need to move to make arms for example.
@theediblemuseum
@theediblemuseum 2 года назад
Hi Kat- it’s really fast. That’s why it’s best to work in small batches. We get only a few minutes. I can’t be accurate because it will depend on room temp, how much it was blitzed etc. Always best to play with a sample first and get the feel of it I think. Hope it goes well!

Thank you from Ukraine! But I wanna clarify, you to make clay just smashed chocolate in a blender? How you keep the clay?
@theediblemuseum
@theediblemuseum 2 года назад
Yes, it’s blitzed in a blender. It can’t be stored as clay because it sets very quickly. You have to make a small amount and use it immediately then make the next batch. The finished sculpture can be kept at a cool - ambient temperature just like regular chocolate though. Hope that helps!

How many whites chocolate ? And what type of white chocolate please ???
@theediblemuseum
@theediblemuseum Год назад
I used Callebaut chocolate. But I’d recommend any good brand chocolate made with cocoa butter fats and not palm oil. Whizz up two hand-fulls at a time.
@madametoertjes3084
@madametoertjes3084 Год назад
When you mix it you don’t warm it in any way ?
@theediblemuseum
@theediblemuseum Год назад
No not warmed. It is the action of chopping that heats it up enough - try small amount

I started a sculpture a couple of years ago and life happened, one hand was left incomplete, will fresh modeling chocolate adhere to old hardened modeling chocolate?
@theediblemuseum
@theediblemuseum 2 года назад
It would be worth a try but I can’t guarantee as I’ve not tried doing exactly that before but I would try to warm up the old modelling chocolate surface you want to join to. This could make it pliable and make addition easier.

Hi Sarah. How powerful a food processor would you recommend to make the chocolate into clay?
@theediblemuseum
@theediblemuseum 3 года назад
As long as it says it can chop nuts and ice and you go in small batches it should be fine. Just don’t try with something designed only as a smoothie blender. Good luck, love to see what you make!

Hi, amazing work, I had some dark chocolate from a year ago and wanted to start some work but I couldn"t make the clay. It stayed sandy and didn't turn to clay. What did I do wrong ?I started slow and kept trying but it was only sand.
@theediblemuseum
@theediblemuseum Год назад
What % were the cocoa solids / cocoa butter in your chocolate? I ask because I have never had that before - and possibly a candy or another product that is not technically chocolate with hydrogenated vegetable fats instead of cocoa butter may behave differently. If this isn't the problem and it reached the sandy stage it may possibly have just needed another blast to come to gather as a paste. Like I say I haven't had this before so I am guessing here.
@roshanakshafaghi4268
@roshanakshafaghi4268 Год назад
The chocolate is Casa Luker Dark 61%. I bought it from the chocolate course I took 1.5 years ago. Thank you for your response.
@theediblemuseum

@@roshanakshafaghi4268 Ahh OK it is great chocolate but possibly if not stored well and or out of date it would not work well.

@@theediblemuseum it was room tempreture.i think they were old.I tried some milk chocolate from same time it was the same. Sand only. I even went and bought a new food processor. I thought the old one. might nit work properly. I will buy new chocolate when I have a chance a try. Do you think if I add coco butter will work?
