I saw you have a tutorial on how to make glycerin liquid soap from scratch. My issue is I have glycerin bar soap that melts really fast after one use. I would like to melt it into liquid any tutorial I see adds glycerin in when this is already glycerin unscented clear soap. Any tips please 🙏

Not sure what I did wrong, but I ended up with a product with 4 layers, literallylike oil and water. It lathered up great last night, no oily residue. I added the boiling water to it to let it sit overnight. It was hard like bar soap this morning so I warmed it up, in the jar, double boiler style. After it was warm (liquid/melted) I gave it a quick stir with immersion blender, literally 5 seconds, then I poured it back in my jars. It's like all the ingredients separated! I've made soap several times before, liquid and bar. Did I mess it up when I warmed it up this morning?
You said you had to warm it back up after you let it sit overnight? Does that mean you turned the crockpot off? I think you’re supposed to leave it on. Separation can mean it wasn’t mixed enough/didn’t fully reach trace. Maybe that was because you turned the crockpot off?
Hello to Soaping 101, I have recently purchased a few essential oils. One is a Now brand and is Rosehip seed essential oil. After I ordered it I got to wondering can I use that in body soap and lotions? My goal was to use it for its benefits of holding in moisture for the skin. You are the first place I thought to ask. I've been subscribed to your channel for a while. I always save ur recipes but i have to go back to the beginners videos and watch them. The only crafty activity i ever do is cook or bake. But I really want to make soap. Im just intimidated by the whole process. Scared to do it wrong. The ironic thing is I'm in college to be a lab scientist 😂 so I'm very picky about measurements so if I mess up I'll get upset lol

You can't have soap made with lye with a neutral pH. It will always be alkaline. If you try to lower the pH to be neutral, you'll destabilise it and it won't act as soap anymore.
oh i am new to whole thing , because if contains water ? we don't need preservatives ? and also it contains oil so we don't need vitamin e to stop it from raincod?
No, we don't need a Preservative because the oil and lye have been completely transformed through saponification. Therefore, it's a whole new composition i.e. product so there isn't anymore lye or oil they've been converted . You don't need a Preservative for soap making with KOH or NaOH.
I did everything step by step i passed the zap test I passed the clarity test but later on I put some past in sink water that was room temp and it turned super milky cloudy help me out please
Anytime homemade soap comes in contact with tap water it will turn a cloudy milky color contaminants found in undistilled water can cause complications and unwanted reactions in our soap. These include accelerated trace, oxidation, soap scum, decreased cleansing abilities, decreased lather performance, cloudiness in liquid . Do you have distilled water? Test your paste in that instead of tap water if it comes out milky that means either your measurements are off or you didn’t cook it long enough.
