Here's a tip: Add your food colouring to the water first then you can skip an entire stage and I imagine you can use a blender in place of all the sieving stages. Happy Holi - just enough time to get ready for the weekend. Thanks for posting

It took me 6 hours to cook 3 colors (since I used a small oven). That would be like 3 packs of cornstarch. I also used powder dye (so, I still need to dilute it). The result of mine was, color is not that vibrant. If anyone else is using powdered dye and wanted it to make the color more visible, I suggest that you put a lot because the color fades when you heat/cook it in the oven.

in south america corn starch is so necessary for food recipes that you can find it everywhere, and really cheap. if someone from southamerica is reading, cornstarch = maizena

can I do the shifting after the microwave proses? and why does it have to use aluminum foil?

You don't have to use the foil it's only easier to get out out of the tray after your done... Oh and by the way DO NOT put foil into a microwave. Ya you can do it after it's dry but if you give it more surface area while it drys it will then dry faster. I hope that helps =)

have you tried putting food color corn starch in the blender and let go. seems the air flow would dry the powder as it refines it as well. if it works that would removes days off the process

I dont' think that would fully work due to the absorbent nature of corn strach. and if you put in a non-newtonian fluid into a bender I think it would break it due to its properties

Hi im trying to make my own , but i couldnt fine the exact color .. as sample i use Red Coloring but when it dry it become pink . even if i double even triple the color into 500 gr powder. so its look like 60 ml liquid color into 500 gr powder . can you gimme a guidance thx you

Rave Colony In all honesty it mean you need more colour or a darker one. If it's coming out a diffrent colour at the end I think it means that the colorloring it self is the wrong colour...
