I used aluminum c-channel I got at the lumber yard. Thicker. And a couple of dollar insta lights from the Dollar Tree. Cheap, but ya have to know what one to get.

Thanks for the video! I picked up a WLToys 12428 roller and made it into a trophy truck, I just need a light bar to complete it now :))

Isn‘t there something missing to limit the current flowing through the COB LED? This way it should get very hot very soon and die of heat. Also hot glue isn‘t a very good choice since it‘s a poor heat conductor and melts. The same thing should work better with a strip of LEDs which already contain resistors for every segment. Or use a power resistor to limit the current.

If I'm not mistaken, that's a traxxas connector? Howcome you went independent instead of plugging it in straight to the truck?

it is a universal connector but i have seen it used in rc trucks.I just wanted to have extra power for the led bar so that the battery could last longer (although the led light bar does not uses so much energy)
