Thank you for the tip of chipboard cardboard. The one and only time we made doll shoes, which was last week, we used the flaps of a crackerbox. It worked ok, but it would be nice to have some of that chipboard on hand.

I LOVE the idea of corduroy. I haven't tried that for shoes before - I bet corduroy would be SO cute, especially for a shoe that is kind of like the slip-in Vans shoes. How fun! I'm encouraged and inspired!

Ohh … me too! I’ve wanted to make the regular Janes in some solid colors so they match more outfits and was thinking denim, but babywale corduroy would be really cute!

I like using thin foam board for shoe soles, but I see that the chipboard would be stiffer and more durable.

I love these No Sew Janes made with lace … they’re great summer shoes. I did try a pair with a woven trim like shown, but it didn’t work for me at all … all those cut threads on the back just “dissolved”. Wonder if adding some lightweight iron on interfacing to the back of the trim would seal all those threads so they stayed together?
