When winter is here, I always make this Porridge…. If you don’t like wheat porridge, this one will change your mind…it’s my grandfather's recipe and it is the best one I have tried or tasted.
Ingredients:
2 cups wheat berries or Kamut wheat (400 g)
Water for soaking and cooking
To prepare a large bowl of Belila:
1 & 1/4 cup cooked wheat with its starchy cooking liquid
1 cup milk
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon sugar or to taste
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Roasted nuts and raisins
Tips:
While cooking the wheat if the water decreases add more boiling water to keep the wheat covered 1 inch above at all times
