In this weeks video I’m going to show you how I make an epoxy river charcuterie board. I used some black walnut wood and a mix of a couple black diamond pigments for colour with my Ecopoxy resin. I take you step by step through the woodwork and share my journey. If you have any questions drop me a comment.
[7:41] "ARE THESE BOARDS FOOD SAFE??.. YES!!"
I get asked a lot if the boards are food safe and the answer is YES. All the products I use are eco friendly and food safe. The epoxy I use is made by “Ecopoxy” and while all epoxies aren’t food safe this brand is unlike other epoxy resins on the market, ECOpoxy uses bio content without the use of toxic organic compounds or heavy metals. Therefore making it safe for incidental food contact. As for the oil finish I'm using, it’s made by Osmo which is a German company and their oils are all made from natural vegetable oils and waxes, it does not off-gas or smell bad. It's durable, easy to apply, and easy to repair. If you have any more questions on the products I use please leave a comment and I will happily answer all your questions
All videos used are my own content except for the one clip from 1:32-1:38. I wanted to properly display what could happen if you leave the bark on and Trevor(@trevor_ecopoxy on Instagram) from Ecopoxy had this perfect clip so with his permission I used his experience to exemplify exactly what I meant. Thanks for watching and I hope to see you on the next one.
