Other artists say you need to soak these for a couple hours to be absorbed

Beautiful board. Since the wood is exposed, and not encased in epoxy, is it recommended to pop the wood grain before adding the final oil finish? Thanks.

How do you find wood like this?

Hi Shawn. I have another quick question for you. I have made a couple boards and each one as it is going through the planer the epoxy portion shows a lot of fine lines....is that normal? I'm not too worried about it ad they all seem to sand out as I go through the sanding stage. I just wasn't sure if that was a normal thing for the Dewalt planer?

Yes, there will most definitely be fine... and sometimes not so fine depending on how your blades are, when you come out of the planer. The sander is what takes care of them, starting at 80/100/120 (depending on how deep those lines are) and going up from there.

How clean do they need to be? I have a fear of dust.

Sorry, can you clarify. How clean does what need to be? The molds? You want to wash them with soap and water (then dry) before use.

@@CraftedElements yes, the molds. I want to be sure I’m doing this correctly the first time. I’ve been putting it off due to a fear of messing it up. I have the silicone spray release, and I just need to get some thick set TB. I have TONS of Black Diamond Pigment. I want to start making/creating and sell these. My current niche isn’t doing so well. Thanks for your videos. I have been enjoying them. I follow you on IG too

@@katndog1 Yes you need to make sure they are clean with soap and water, then dried. Please be sure to use the RIGHT release spray, some people just search "silicone mold release" on Amazon, and buy what comes up, that will get you into trouble. Watch the video here for clarification -> craftedelements.com/moldrelease

Double sided tape is faster buy more expensive. I haven't had much luck with hot glue. Blew a template apart because it came loose.

There is definitely the CA glue + masking tape method, I see that used a lot, but I like the Hot Glue method myself.
