I was on the fence about my aero press. It makes an OK cuppa coffee, I thought, but what I really liked is the new house all equipment. After this video, I made a flat white ….. mind blown! My second cup I added half&half to offset my low fat milk. Hands down best cup I’ve ever made at home! Great video, no fancy tools - I’m not opening a coffee house! Thank you! 😁

Excellent video, I've been trying this all week with good to excellent results. Every day with a small modification, it gets better. 70 grams of water @ 199 degrees, 14 grams of beans ground @ 4 clicks out on a Porlex Mini ll, Milk @ 155 degrees F, foamed in a mini French press, all done on a inverted AP, excellent Flat White, Thanks!
@khirek5335
@khirek5335 2 года назад
Is inverted necessary or just a preference? I thought on super fine grind sizes it wouldn't make that big of a difference because there's barely any leakage. But Imma def try out your recipe I just got my aeropress this christmas and am new to milk coffees
@lorimcquinn3966
@lorimcquinn3966 2 года назад
@@khirek5335 More habit than anything else. I started with a A/P (2) years ago and quickly changed over to inverted as I didn't like the early start to the process. You might very well be right in regards to the finer grind in the normal position, I never tried it. I suspect the grinder and coffee bean has more to do with success when using this process. While the Porlex Mini ll is a great little grinder, I think consistency can still be improved. A good espresso blend also makes a huge difference. Good luck!

I totally enjoyed this recipe. I find that it was comparable to James Hoffman's aeropress recipe for coffee with milk using 18g with 90ml water. This yielded a smoother, more rounded cup for me and I save 4g of bean to boot. Good job!
@suikarbus
@suikarbus 2 года назад
You know you can just make a bit less coffee if you want to save on beans, right😁? Both James and Aleš used the same coffee to water ratio in their recipes so if anything Aleš is saving some more time for you since his recipe total time is 1 min while James waits for 90 seconds before pressing down.

Take a mix of this and the Cappucino video. Aeropress for the coffee (with a Fellow Prismo if you've got one), and a French Press for frothing the milk. The French Press gives a much denser foam needed for the fIat white. I make mine with 22g of coffee. 50g of water. 180g of milk. This gives me a nice, strong tasting flat white.
