How to make Flatbread Pizza AT HOME | COOKING IN QUARANTINE

LEARN HOW TO MAKE VEGAN FLATBREAD PIZZA IN THIS EASY RECIPE
LAY HO MA! I think its definitely safe to say that everyone loves homemade pizza. I'm pretty confident to say that everyone also loves homemade flatbread. But did you know that making your very own flatbread from scratch is much easier than you think? Join me in this episode and learn how to make an easy vegan flatbread pizza! Let's begin.
FLATBREAD INGREDIENTS:
1 cup all purpose flour
generous pinch of pink salt
1 tbsp dried oregano
drizzle of olive oil
1/3 cup warm water
TOPPINGS INGREDIENTS:
4 sticks asparagus
1 plant based sausage
olive oil
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1/2 cup shredded plant based cheese
small bunch of fresh basil
2 tbsp basil pesto
Directions:
1. Add all of the dry flatbread ingredients into a mixing bowl. Mix to combine
2. Add the water and olive oil. Mix to form a dough, then knead for a few minutes to form a ball
3. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rest for 15min
4. Prepare your toppings by chopping the asparagus and sausage into bite sized pieces
5. Heat up a sauté pan on medium high heat. Then, drizzle some olive oil
6. Sauté the sausage and asparagus for 5-8min, then set aside
7. Roll the dough into a thick log, then divide into 4 equal portions
8. Pre-heat the oven to 425F
9. Roll each portion thinly into your desired shape
10. Transfer the flatbread onto a baking tray dusted with flour
11. Assemble your toppings and sauce, then bake in the oven for 12-15min

Greece here, I have been cleaning, painting some walls, cooking, playing candy crash, reading books, reading the law, being a volunteer for my neighbors in shopping groceries, keeping up to date about this virus.....hope you are all enjoying some time ( for me it's two months now , my choice )

Hey I'm 16 and it was my first time making pizza not just that but for my family dinner , alot of pressure. This Turned out great and would totally recommend, I'm not vegan but this was still amazing

Amazing!! Good for you! I made this in a live episode also where I pan seared the flatbread before placing on the toppings. If you get to make pizza again I would recommend that extra step ☺️

I've made this three times now, breakfast (today), lunch and dinner varying the toppings and seasonings in the dough. Also added some wholewheat flour for fibre. It's a great, easy recipe and rated 10/10 by my housemate even though he prefers deep pan. Thank you, stay safe. 🥰

Hi Wil! I'm new to your channel and am totally enjoying every episode! I'm a Canadian senior and long-time resident of Japan. My son, who lives in Hawaii, turned me vegan a couple of years ago. It's been a challenge to find ingredients and easy to cook vegan meals here. I'm not really a foodie, so your easy recipes are a huge sigh of relief. Hi Wil! We in Italy are in quarantine since March 8th...! I live in the country so my life has not changed so much...till now! Good idea your flatbread pizza, because the yeast is beginning to be sold out! I've prepared yesterday some soba noodles to use along with some of your recipes. I've used buckwheat and spelt flour (I'm wheat intolerant) and it was easy to make them. Looking forward to eat them! Take care and have fun in your kitchen!

🌱Wow! These look amazing Wil!! Thnx for this; will try! I heard if you add 1/4 teaspoon of baking “Soda” to the flour, it can help make crusts even crispier. But make sure it’s a good quality baking soda, & whisked thoroughly in.🕊

I can't wait to try this! I just need to find some flour lol. Also, I have been obsessed with putting black sesame seeds at the base of the crust to add more crunch and flavour. Just toss the seeds on your table, place dough overtop, and lightly roll til seeds stick. When it bakes, it adds a lovely flavour

Lay ho ma Will, I am in confinement, for the moment in France we are allowed to go out for necessary errands like shopping for food, I prefer not to. Teleworking is actually quite time consuming so I cannot say I need something to pass the time. However, recently, I have been diving into the world of fermentation again, trying to make plant based yogurt... it is quite fun. Did you know you could ferment soy milk with just a teaspoon of oats thrown in the jar? Thank you for another beautiful recipe, stay safe! X&O from France

I have just found your channel Wil and it's been so inspiring. Last night I made your vegan cheese and my husband and I devoured it over lunch! We live Victoria, Australia and we have kept sane in lock down by cooking with our garden produce of butternut pumpkins, silver beet, garlic and our summer grown frozen tomatoes. Hi, I just saw your video. We're quarantined in Brazil. I didn't bake anything yet. I'm gonna try making some pizza, but not in the oven. Small portions are better made in a cast iron pan, faster and more energy efficient, and the flavor from the pan! Hmmmm! thanks for the recipe and stay healthy!

Thank you so much ☺️ I filmed an updated version of this where I would pan sear the flatbread before placing on the toppings and then broiling it in the oven. The results were much better, just takes a bit more time ☺️

I love all your videos. How do you get on these pizzas that the bulk ingredients don't fall off? In other words keep on the pizza when done cooking and when you pick the pizza up to eat that the plant based sausages don't fall off?

Wil Yeung - Cook With Confidence thank you. I checked out homesense. I used to live in two of the states they’re in, and currently live about three hrs from their NY and Mass stores. Since they’re not online, but affiliated with TJMAXX and Home Goods, which I do have access to, I’ll keep my eyes open for that rolling pin.
