Yes, all you really need to do is to increase the time in the timer and the loop interval in the looper. I would recommend increasing both of these numbers by the same amount.
From what I am aware build mode has recieved no updates since this video came out, so you probably messed up somewhere in the linking. This is something completely normal that happens to even the best all the time, try to carefully rewatch the video and it will for sure work!
Weird, what probably happened is that one of the gates has the wrong settings in them (probably the timer), remember to turn off resets when unpowered on the timer if you didn't.
