@MasonMenzies
@MasonMenzies 4 года назад
I do not believe that Marvelous Designer has Rigid Body Physics. But, You can add in an object, and manually move it into place with the gizmo, while the simulation is running. Then it will interact with the cloth. But, I do not think you could simulate something dropping on it, if that's what you mean.

I was just looking this tutorial for the pressure setting, and I was totally surprised ! If I will increase pressure of cloth in my PC, it flew away from 3D space. Please help me tell what settings should I change to stop these fly away problems...
@MasonMenzies
@MasonMenzies 4 года назад
Ah yes, the wonders of cloth simulation. I have had this many times as well, and there is usually a few possible causes. The most likely cause, is that your pattern is not air tight. check to make sure all your seams are stitched. The next most likely cause, is that one of your pattern pieces is backwards. Meaning, the normal direction could be facing inwards, rather than outwards. You can tell if it's backwards by the color. there will be a dark side, and a light side to your pattern. Make sure the dark side faces the inside of your cushion. Another possible cause, is if you have a pillow case on the cushion, the pillow case might have pressure, which for me, caused the pillow to ride off into the sunset. If none of those work, my last guess is that you only applied pressure to one half of the patterns. make sure you select all pieces and then add the pressure. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, 3D sewing was only implemented in version 8. However, like I mentioned, learning to sew in 2D space is a very valuable skill to have. Though I have 3D sewing, I still do most of my sewing in 2D, as it's faster, and once you get the hang of it, more intuitive.

We tried to keep the info on creating the pillow, mostly within Marvelous designer, as that was the focus of the training. The details around the pillows are best done in another 3D package. In my case I used blender. Which you can see in reference pictures inside the project files. Which were just renders of the chair I made. To make the piping around the cushions, I selected all the vertices along the seams, duplicated and separated them into their own object. Then I used the Skin modifier in Blender, along with the Subdivision Surface modifier. Hope that helps anyone :)
