The biggest problem about this is that it's neither enfleurage nor does it produce pure essential oil. Enfleurage is done by using hard fats, like lard or palm fat. There are two different types of enfleurage, hot and cold. The cold one involves applying a layer of the carrier fat onto a glass plate, then placing the petals onto the fat while the hot one involves heating the fat and putting the petals in it. The fat now draws the essential oils from the petals. In both cases, the petals need to be replaced with fresh ones every now and then. After the fat is saturated with essential oils, it's washed out with alcohol which now draws the essential oils from the fat. The mixture is filtered and the alcohol is let to evaporate from the alcohol-essential oil mixture. What remains is the pure essential oil. The video basically show mazeration, that is, infusing oil with essential oil, but the title "How to Make Gardenia Essential Oil" is misleading as it does not show you how to make essential oil from gardenias.
Asatruction do you know where I can find a step by step instructions on the alcohol washing part after an enfleurage to create an absolute? I understand the enfleurage process but have never seen instructions on the alcohol process and cannot find instructions. 😩

Madam for this flowrrs essential oil in large quantity we can use steam distillation or co2 method? If we go for co2 then we can get water also? And plz show while making essential oil in water steam distillation using solvant.
It sounds like a difficult job to me. In order to collect 1 kilogram of fresh flowers in full bloom it has to be in May or June and you need huge plants(bushes) with lots and lits of flowers on. Then the essential oil extracted is going to be only between 0,07g to 0,02g . Is it worth it?

Gardenias don't produce any essential oil and in perfumery they usually use a dry flower extract, a synthetic analogue, or a mix of other essential oils that emulate the natural scent of gardenia..so please don't upload tutorials that you obviously haven't tried before..
That's absolutely not true. Gardenias produce very little oil and an enormous amount is needed to create a concrete. I grow them and use the enfleurage method to extract the true scent myself, as what products you can purchase are ridiculously expensive.

Even in small amounts the plant can cause abdominal pain, vomiting, reduced heart rate, blurred vision, drowsiness, and red skin rashes. Roughly 38 different cardiac glycosides have been found in the plant.
