HOW TO MAKE GOLD WELDS!!! MIG WELDING WITH SILICON BRONZE 

That was great information, Casey! I've been a professional welder for 30 plus years and didn't know about MIG brazing until a few weeks ago. It's fantastic! I bought the Blue Demon sil-bronze you recommended and you are correct. It's a fine product. I've been doing a lot of experimenting and some actual repairs with it. Steel to steel, stainless to steel, stainless to stainless etc. Even steel to aluminum, just for grins. Not recommended but it will stick it together in a pinch. The butt weld I tried cracked and broke, as expected, but a surface weld held very well and is strong. My first bead with mild steel was amazing, which really surprised me. It is Extremely forgiving. While brazing steel, I've found that it really likes a nice gap to fill and the capillary action will let the bronze flow down and around the gap, onto the underside of the piece a little and makes an very strong joint. I was even able to repair 2 insanely expensive brass tables we have at the hotel. They were going to be a total loss but the repair turned out great and the Blue Demon wire instantly paid for itself. It's pretty expensive (I paid about $54 for the 2Lb spool on Amazon) but it is so versatile that it was well worth the price. Just FYI, I'm running it in a Forney Multi-Process 140, set up for aluminum. I already had the plastic liner in the machine for an aluminum project. I wouldn't hesitate to run it with a standard steel liner, though. It is softer than steel wire but much stiffer than aluminum. I apologize for all the words but I really geeked out on this. Tell us what your experience is If you gain or lose with Sibr on structural tube? I like the less spatter and flow characteristics…curious about its strength properties and of course corrosion resistance. I built a patio frame using galvanized well pipe and knock on wood no weld has bit the dust.

I did a pass on my trailer to fill a area that I wanted to keep water from collecting in. It piled up on me a little at first, but got better when i got my feel for it. Im gonna use it for a sheet metal oil tank as I wont have to worry about burning holes in anything, and it should seal right up on the go. Tank done easy without having to buy a TIG

Hey Casey... I just noticed that you have a hospital gurney as a welding table... I picked one of those up a million years ago at a thrift store.. I use mine as a workbench as well.. I liked the nice large caster wheels as it makes it easy to wheel around..

i use gas 98:2. it works for me.free spatter. miller and i car honda said can you use 75:25 80:20 pure argon. but for me 98:2 works well.

I get a good bead for about an inch and then it's like it won't bond to the work. Very frustrating.

Hey Casey, this was great. I know it's an old video so I hope you see this. Yours is the first and only video I've seen that is any worthwhile on this. I mean everyone else is like, oh you need this $2k Red/blue/or other machine to do this, your like hey I got a handler 140 and bam bronze welding/brazing...So, the jist, I wanna buy one of these $400 (Chinese, insert any name) mig welders on Amazon and make it my dedicated Copper/bronze brazer, what function are an absolute must? Silicon is not the same as silicone

It's not a weld it's a braze. It's just wetting out on the surface closer to solder then welding. Not as structural as a weld but it's strong.

What's wrong using mix argon?

First of all, it's not "like" brazing, it _is_ brazing. Second, you can't braze aluminum with it. And stop saying silicone, it's silicon, there's no e at the end. Also, V groove is for steel, U is for softer material like aluminum; you had it backwards, set your tension properly.
