Love this but where is the recipe under the video on the drop down bar? We have no idea how much or how long she cooks her rice... please put the recipe with the video so we are not guessing what she did the whole time. Thanks so much for sharing your experience Abuelita.
HI Erik could you please let us know how much Water was used in the end, a certain measure would be of great help as I don't want rice to be soggy, or undercooked..
I believe at the point you put the water in, you should use the recommended amount of water for that rice if cooked regularly, maybe a touch less. So 1 cup rice is usually 1.5-2 cups water, depending on the rice. I always use a touch less.
I just found your channel and I'm in love. I so admire the rich cultures of Latin America and I especially love the cuisine of Mexico! These videos are wonderful! Did you guys end up covering the rice to simmer at the end? I couldn't quite tell. Thanks for the videos, I'm surprised you don't have a lot of subscribers :/ need to change that!
+Cee&Tee Rod Hey, so glad to hear that you like the videos I'm making! After taking a 2 year long break, I have now decided to post a new video EVERY THURSDAY! It's a big commitment, but I'm doing it because of the amazing response from you guys, the viewers. Please help me grow by sharing these episodes on Facebook and with friends via email. Thank you! Keep commenting and giving me ideas for episodes!
OMGosh thank you. Just subbed your channel. As a mexican, I fail at rice! lool. I also tend to rely on those flavor cubes too much imo. (My own grama used those a lot.) Thank you abuelita!
La receta de ese arroz por sí solo debe de saber riquísima, en lo personal le agregaría pechuga de pollo desmechada y quedaría riquísimo, genial el vídeo.
Thanks, Carlos! You know it is never too late to start your own RU-vid channel! I asked myself "What would I do if I won the lottery?" and my answer was travel around the world and eat the best local cuisine available in each country. Of course the best food is always made by grandmothers, so I decided to create this show with the hope of making my dream a reality. I hope you will tune in for my new season about Thailand! And the next stop is Italy!
How about a video with my suegra? She lives in San Luis Potosi. My husband says she can cook up a storm. Chili verde con peurco, caldo de pollo y caldo de res, albondigas, chile rellenos, arroz con pollo.....all kinds of things.
Typically it's two to one, water to rice. It can vary depending on the cooking technique. It's a guess, but she had what appeared to be a four cup measuring cup and it was about half full. I used this recipe yesterday and used two to one and it was very satisfied with the result.
