I've seen guanimes done but not with coconut milk. I'm gonna try that. My husband is Puerto Rican and i want to surprise him. Thank you! Also, your food is so good and professionally done i would of sworn you went to culinary school. You go with your bad self!

Hey I'm going to try and use your recipe to impress my dad sometime. He grew up in San Diego and can cook lots of food from scratch. Gonna practice it later this week. I've read that these can be cooked on the grill but you've steamed them? Can you give me some tips and explanation? I plan to fill them with seasoned ground beef (~90% lean, ~10% fat,) and I'm thinking about adding grilled or sauted onions, garlic, and thin strips of fresh ripe chipotles. Does this sound like a good idea?

The recipe looks delicious! I can't find banana leaves, is there another way to cook the Guanimes? How many potatoes when adding to the Bacalao? Thanks!
@@antoniaperez4782 In Loiza PR they do cornflour guanimes rolled in the leaf and served with bacalao, my favorite but in the Cayey Salinas region they boil it without the plantain leaf and made it with white flour instead of corn. Amazing fact considering the Island is just 3,500 sq.mi. Loiza also use coconut in them.
