I love all three... The first one for the intro, more acoustic, then 3rd combo, in the middle of a song, finally the 2nd mix giving it a feeling of melancholic emptiness to fade out. All can have a purpose. Great Tip.

The acoustic has alot of more extra little sounds that make the vibe more like your in there with the artist. On the other hand both LPs sound like your hovering in space with a warm blanket vibes. Both equally phenomenal sounds it's just preference

I think another great idea is from the interview with the producers of Lizzy McAlpine's five seconds flat. They used a combination of one acoustic guitar playing a strummed rhythm, another acoustic guitar playing eighth notes openly, and another acoustic guitar playing them palm muted i believe. It sounds great in practice and a cool option for people who might not have a wide variety of gear.

Same thing is done in Queens “It’s late” with a guitar that’s a bit overly distorted on one side and a bit too clean on the other side and somehow it equals each other out and gives an absolutely beautiful sound with a unique quality to it
@TheGhostGuitars
@TheGhostGuitars Месяц назад
I like double tracking with a single coil guitar like a Strat or Tele and a humbucker guitar like a Singlecut or a RRV. Second choice is any guitar (Strat, Tele, SC, V, etc.) and a 6-string bass that's tuned and played like an electric guitar tuned an octave lower.

Really cool seeing the dramatic tonal differences compared in one video. I can hear both guitars on both L and R, but I'm curious - is it hard panning with just the reverb panned to the opposite side, or did you do something like 75% LR panning?

Love this, I have a strat and it’s super buzzy when recording even when I change the pickup position slider on the guitar - how do you record them without the hum?
@AudioHaze
@AudioHaze Месяц назад
Great question! Sometimes with quieter tracks the buzz is just going to be audible, although position 2 and 4 will be much quieter buzz-wise. Usually if I'm recorded a clear Strat and I know I won't need my pedals, I'll plug straight into the amp and that usually is much quieter even when all of my pedals are off

how would it sound if the acoustic and the les paul wouldn't be 100% panned? full pan sounds a bit jarring in isolation when listening with headphones.

And i still , about 8 years after first starting to look at tone. Still prefer anything with anything with a strat. There is no ideal or best tone. Just different tones.
