Suggest you use a larger top plate than the one on the bottom, and separate the base of the pot from the bottom plate with a 15mm spacer otherwise, when it rains your seed mix will get wet and germinate. I make similar feeders using flower pots, but I drill a 40-50mm holes in the side of the pot and seed stays inside nice and dry.
Thank you for your suggestion! We appreciate your feedback and will definitely consider it for future videos. If you have any more ideas, feel free to share them. Thanks again for being part of our community!
First of all I would like to thanks for your feedback and concern , care and knowledge about the birds. Dear, for rice to be cooked and swell, it must be boiled in water at 100 degrees Celsius (212 degrees Fahrenheit). A bird’s internal temperature fluctuates around 37 degrees Celsius (98 degrees Fahrenheit). Therefore, it is not nearly hot enough in birds’ stomachs to cause the swelling of rice. Moreover Birds have a high metabolism. The food they eat has to be digested quickly to convert it to the energy needed to satisfy the demands of daily activities. Therefore, rice does not stay in the bird’s stomach long enough to swell up.
