I'd feel insurmountable shame using other people's basslead samples, because our bass sounds are our voice, and it's akin to a singer using another singers voice, in my view, but this is still great knowledge of building a drop, and I know you're a good sound designer from other videos. We didn't have sample packs when I first started, or years after I started. Serum wasn't even invented yet. I'll still give the video a like, because every video you do is great education. A lot of the more popular educators don't know what they're doing compared to you.

The biggest issues I have with my work are muddy mixes especially when I get up to mastering stages. Maybe some content around gain staging and mixing and we all love new racks!! 🤘💀🤘

so how do you go about doing a double drop would you use the 32bar and then 8/16bar after or another full 32? guess it really depends on the surrounding context and goal of the song but as a generalization how would you personally go about it using this song as a reference point. this is also one of the best tutorial videos ive seen brotha please dont stop making these

Hey dude thank you! And I would fit your fake drop within the 32 bar drop! 😊

@@Dripment Midnight Tyrannosaurus did an 8 bar long double drop in one of his tracks 😅 But the double drop in Skrillex's remix of Sexy Lady by iSquare wasn't part of the 32 bars, and even that has an extra 2 bars between each half of the drop that's also not part of the 32 drop bars. N-n-n-n-now, get the fuck up!

samples are a great way to learn and to get into making some stuff faster. the guy who said using samples is bad needs to talk to hip hop. everything has been sampled. and samples have been around long before serum. But is serum what muerte used for his pack? that way i can focus on that as well.
@Dripment
@Dripment Год назад
Yeah man exactly resampling is a huge part of music ever since disco and then hip hop. Muerte actually doesn’t use serum too much he uses audio samples and lots of post processing to achieve his sound 👍🏽

16 bars is not enough for a drop? Evilwave & Frequensphere - Collapse drops are 24 bars. The first drop in Teminite - Unstoppable is 16 bars. Both great dubstep music. Edit: Skrillex & BARE NOIZE ft Foreign Beggars - Scatta has a 16 bar 3rd drop near the end.
@Dripment
@Dripment Год назад
Yes 16 bars is enough, you can use 16 or 32, but personally I like 32 much more cause we can dance more
@christiantaylor1495
@christiantaylor1495 Год назад
@@Dripment I'd say definitely have some or mostly 32 bar drops in each EP or album we make, but shorter ones can be used for a more interesting song structure for a listening experience, and a DJ can still use shorter drops by mixing them with other tracks. Teminite's track Unstoppable is a really good listening experience partly because that first drop is tantalising in it's shortness.
