Been making sticks for years. I have made from hickory, maple, sassafras, holly and alanthus. I like finding wood that has movement such as choked by honeysuckle. When working alanthus (tree of heaven) wear a dust mask for sure.

@@RigginFamilyAdventures Alanthus smell bad while working it. I firmly believe the dust sent my BP very high the next day. Happened twice. The wood is very light and requires a thicker piece for strength but is still light. I am currently drying some Paw Paw, another very light wood and not sure of strength.
