Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ru-vid.comUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!
I wish I would have known this. My husband took my dog to the vet for shaking his head and scratching at his ears. I asked him to inquire about ACV but the vet said that it diesnt work and put him on Apoquel. Long story short - it ended up being a bacterial infection and Apoquel killed my dog. My beautiful, 101 pound, red golden retreiver, my service dog and companion, developed AML Leukemia, very rare in dogs, from only 2 months on Apoquel. His blood work was perfect the day before he started the drug. 2 months later he was diagnosed with this area cancer at UF Small Animal Hospital. My heart breaks every day I am without him. A pill is easier, but deadlier. I miss him so much there are no words for the depth of great pain and great loss. Neither love nor money could save him. I tried. Thank you for your very informational and instructional video. I will use this approach if ever needed in the future with another dog. I wish I had known. I trusted a pharmacutical driven profession. I am so sad now.
My dog died from capstar and my vet doesn’t believe me. I’m so sorry for your loss and I understand what you’re going through. I could have done the legwork and not just given her a cure all pill 😭
So sorry for your loss of your pet. Mine, too, the vet gave a annual jab and the dog, just collapsed after a few hours. Really, had a breakdown. Stupid vet, didn't even want to answer my call. This young lady, gives good home remedies. Thank you and be blessed.
Sorry but your dog didn’t develop leukemia in two months time. This kind of thinking and distrust of medical professionals and basic epidemiology is why we are in this pandemic still. Not that all vets or doctors are great but apoquel didn’t give your dog cancer over night like come on dude. 🤦🏻♂️
Thank you very much You are a life saver For more than 2 years my dog was suffering from ear yeast infection We were in and out of dog clinics every month Nothing seemed to work the next day it seemed to come back We tried it for a week and it decreased almost completely Thank you You have saved my dog from constant pain And saved me from spending thousands of dollars.
Great video! My dog was aggressively shaking her head and scratching ar her ear. I went and got ACV and cotton balls and did the 50/50 you recommended and dripped some in massaged it a bit and cleaned out the parts I could and she is now laying down relaxing and has stopped shaking her head. I believe it was a mix of being dirty and possibly the onset of an ear infection. Will apply for a few more days probably 2x a day to really kill any bacteria build up. Thanks for this you saved me a trip to the vet!
Did she feel better that same day? Or did it take a couple of applications. And any updates since? I’m in the a similar situation with aggressive itching and head shaking and a waxy odor
@@skoldiersoup8409 *knock on wood* but it’s done wonders for my dog now. She’s not scratching all the time no more (still occasionally) but frequency has gone well down. She can now play and relax much more
Our dog was shaking his head and whining for days. I took a cotton ball with the vinegar and cleaned it out. He had a lot of dirt and blood in one just on the inner part of the hole. I then put antibacteria ointment on the bleeding part. He shook his head and whined maybe 2 more times and he has not done it again and it has been 7 hours since I did it. THANK YOU! You saved a trip to the ER.
My only issue is I’ve seen multiple veterinarians post if you’re going to do a home remedy to absolutely not use the water because it will promote yeast growth they say to mix the vinegar with extra-virgin olive oil not giving anybody a hard time but I don’t want to cause more harm than good I just want my dog to be comfortable
I bet that's why my girl has an infection right now. I accidentally got some water in her ear while bathing her, I mustn't have dried it as thoroughly as I thought I did. Thanks for the tip! I'll know in future to maybe put coconut oil soaked cotton balls in her ears during her bath.
I think using the oil instead of water is best but using distilled water and Organic ACV will be best! I will use the olive oil and ACV cause i don't have any Organic Coconut oil.
I use to do this application, for my 2 dogs. It really works well, as you mentioned. Thank you for the knowledge of this. Your doggy looks lovely. Keep up the good work. Be Blessed in all you do.
Tasha Reyes oh thanks for replying! I did more research and I don’t think my dog has an infection, I think she just has dirty ears. but I still plan of cleaning them with acv
THANK YOU!!! Super helpful! I didn't have Apple Cider Vinegar. I used White Vinegar. Mixed one tablespoon of that with one and a half tablespoons of water and the results were DRAMATIC. The shaking stopped. The itching stopped. My dog looks completely normal 30-minutes after treatment. Even the treated ear is standing tall (Aussie ears). Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Yes indeed. I treated my dog’s ear the next day with the same solution and the infection is completely gone. No more red color. Just a healthy pink. Best of all, I have a dog demanding that his ears be scratched. This was a great and wonderful solution.
@@melissaw9093 I don't know. I'm not a vet. I just stumbled across this RU-vid video when my dog had an ear infection. I mixed the vinegar and water together and used a normal washcloth to apply the mixture to the ear flap because that was all I had. It stung my poor dog at first, but that turned out to be a good thing as it went right to work on the infection. I continued to apply the same vinegar and water mixture for the next 4-5 days, using nothing more than a washcloth. The results were dramatic. The infection vanished in less than a day and has never returned.
My vet gave me extra-long Q-tips to use in my dog's ears when she had a yeast infection. He said the ear canal is shaped like an L and as long as you don't try to push it sideways you cannot do damage to a dog's ear. Their ear canal is not like ours
Unless your dog is startled and moves his head, I was also given those for a feral cat they couldn't handle. He's my baby & nobody else can usually even see him. Anyway the ones they gave me had long wooden sticks and sturdy, Q-Tips are like crappy now. I've worked with a lot of different vets in dog rescue but especially when feral cats started breeding all over the neighborhood, I stopped counting the spays after 50, 9 neutered. Anyway one of the vets I saw told me to NEVER touch their ears and NEVER try to clean the ears, even the outer ears of the cats that stands up. His advice contradicted the advice of every other vet and he was rude to the cat I brought in. Pushed him down and said get off me cat. Needless to say that was the last visit to that veterinary hospital. I had been seeing the afternoon vet and he was really good, that guy in the morning was horrible to my cat, who was terminal I found out that day. Unless I had $10,000 minimum in two weeks for the specialist surgeon who was in our area once a month. I knew a guy who was cleaning his own ear with a Q-Tip & his hand slipped & punctured his ear drum. He ended up in the emergency room.
I did the ACV and my dog did NOT like it, definitely hurt her. I switched to the Coconut oil and cleaned her ears with it - she definitely feels some relief!!! I did it a few times to clean out the gunks and did it again the following morning. She’s still shaking her head but it’s much less frequent. I think it’s working! Thanks!
@@nicanonymous9023 it gave her temporary relief. I ended up having to take her to the vet and they “packed” her ears. It got pretty severe and escalated over night. I recommend taking your pups to the vet and get it taken care of.
I did it for my dog, he’s finally taking a needed nap. He was waking up periodically through the night so I was keeping an eye on him but didn’t know what to do like an idiot. Thank you😭
@@candacethompson8421 i feel like it’s hurting her snd that’s the last thing I wanna do but u can use APC FOR HEAT PACTHES WHERE THE OTCH IT WENT AWAY LIKE QUICK AND HASNT CAME BACK
Yes this is great for outer ear infections, But what about inner ear infection that doesn’t reach down into the dogs inner ear where my French bulldog gets him all the time.
I use all of these already. My dog shakes his head after I apply the solution made from ACV/water and peroxide which shakes out the excess liquid. I add the coconut oil after. Always love home remedies for us and our beloved 4 legged children.
My vet said to NEVER USE hydrogen peroxide, because I also used it on my dog from time to time but it can actually do more harm then good come to find out. The peroxide can bust the dogs ear drum if it or any of the vapor it produces from it sizzling gets caught up or stuck in the ear. So yeah I'd stop using peroxide, I know I did after learning this. Also can be quite painful depending on your dog and the severity of the situation.
Is there a way to tell the difference between a yeast and bacterial infection? My dog is shaking her head like crazy and scratching at her ear and her ears are kinda warm and definitely red. This just started today. I'm almost wondering if maybe I should do ACV one time and coconut oil another and just keep switching between the 2 for maybe 10 days. I have plenty of both. We have many animals so we always have those things on hand. So many great uses!
I hope you brought your dog to a holistic vet. Home remedies can easily make things worse. Please don't put your beloved dog's health on strangers in the internet (unless you can verify their credentials). Find a qualified professional, either a regular vet or a holistic vet.
I am echoing Bill Bird’s response. I used white vinegar and water as well and within a half hour pup settled down and went to sleep. Thankyou for this remedy. Just a query. When I withdrew the cotton ball, there were blackish particles attached. I did multiple swabs and the residue reduced. No odour at all. Any comments on what it may have been? Again. Thanks for your helpful video.
I'm so happy your fur baby responded well! My little Yorkie suffered from these terrible yeast infections too, literally crying & digging at his ears through the night. AWESOME RESULTS & to reassure you, the black/dark red dirty looking residue is common (at least with my little guy!) The ACV by far beats going to the vets & 'experimenting' with many medications for months on end. Money was never an issue when my baby was suffering yet I must say, the most effective treatment was literally pennies compared to what I would spend on even one medication from the vet!! I always massage the coconut oil into the flaps & all crevices of his ears & he LOVES it! I truly believe he knows how amazingly well BOTH treatments work! 🐾😍
Everyine plz dnt use apple cider. Coz at the first i put apple cider method in my dog's ear and it irritated him so much. It was even too smelly . After that I used coconut oil in my pug's ear and trust me it helped me alot. My pug suffered so much pain with waxy material in his ears and used to scratch lyk crazy from last year. I tried so many ear drops but nothing could do the magic lyk coconut oil did just in last 2 days. So anyone wanna try plz go for coconut oil and save ur lil furr baby 🙂 Thanks !
Excellent! Coconut oil works for everything! It's a natural killer of bacteria. It's also the only remedy that works for exzema or skin irritations. It's also healing if you have a wound.
Good morning! Thank you for this video!! You said in the video if we have questions we could email you. I don't see your email address and I'm not sure if you'll see this comment. My dogs ear flap is swollen at the tip. I believe when our 2 dogs were horse playing, it somehow got nipped. It's not inside the ear, just at the tip of the flap. Will this remedy still help? My dog isn't yelping or seem to be in pain, still horse playing around and no whining from pains. Thank you regardless for helping us help our fur babies❤️❤️
It is not recommended to pour the mixture in the ear canal. Some ear infections have ruptured ear drums and if this mixture gets into the middle ear, diseases like vestibular disease or exacerbation of a middle ear infection can develop.
Your dog is,an angel,my dog to let him check his,ear I need to put 2 muzzles on him plus me and someone else holding him 😂 ,apart of that he is lovely old grumpy sweet dog ☺❤
So the coconut oil coats the inside of the dogs ears and builds up so how do you get the it out of the dogs ears once the infection is gone because I don't want my dogs to have a caked up ear of coconut oil, my question might so stupid but if it reharden's then it will build up in my dogs ears.
You need to allow the dog to shake his/her head after the squoochy-squoochy part, and then dry again with soft smooth cloth or cotton. I used to work for a vet who used gauze, which was extremely irritating to those gentle folds.
I see many comments here saying it’s a bad idea to put water in the ear , so best to use ACV diluted with olive oil . Why Olive Oil though ? Wouldn’t Coconut oil be better since it’s antibacterial / fungal ?
Yes, coconut oil has anti bacterial properties. Olive oil doesn’t. I think people only suggest olive oil for those who don’t have coconut oil, in order to dilute the ACV
My dog have ear infection and I was searching what to do to kill the ear infection he was shaking his head, he had his head tilted to the side and scratching his ear but everything time he scratched his ear he will start crying and because he was sad I will start crying but I start using the acv and distilled water together and that help him a lot he doesn’t shake his head anymore only when I’m done cleaning his ear and he doesn’t tilt his head and scratch anymore I use 2 tbsp of acv and 6 tbsp of water because I think the vinager is too acidic That work for my dog he is a poodle mix so try it yourself to see if it works It has been two days since I start the treatment I do this two times a day in the morning and night
Thank you so much for doing this video you have no idea how much it helped me. I have a shih Tzu and he is forever getting ear infections because of his inner ear hair. I try to trim it but he still gets infections. I always know when he does because it's your smell really bad. I am going to try a couple of these home remedies. I will let you know if they work. Again thank you for the video, explanations and instructions.
I’ve read not to use water with ACV but to use olive oil instead, couldn’t you mix ACV with coconut oil? Mix it together in tub, I know it will go hard but could put tub in shallow hot tap water?? Just a thought
@@ricoworksout7597 it work. My poppy she kept shaking her head but they do that anyway to get rid of rest what inside. She stop after hour. I hope that helps
Wow it worked, I didn’t have ACV I used white vinegar nd water. My puppy was going crazy trying to itch her ear, I swabbed it nd now she seems comfortable…. Thank you so much.
I used diluted acv on my dog and I think it burned his ear really bad, he kept running around trying to rub his ear on everything. I'll never use it again. I'm going to try coconut oil.
This and another video that may help our beloved dogs Green tea instead of water with the ACV ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nd9VqYZ5h2c.html
How far down should you go? My furbabies have never had a smelly ear before... my 6 month old yorkie puppy has stand up ears he wasn't behaving during bath time and some water got into his ear now it stinks.. should you just go to that numb on the inside? I don't want to accidentally go down to far.. pls help I can't afford yet another vet bill...
My boy has a ear infection but on top seems like he had a big Aural hematoma, (my boy loves to swim) Do you recommend to get surgery for an Aura hematoma, or do you have any recommendations to help my boy to heal without surgery? He just got some medication for the pain.. but the bet is asking for him to have surgery..
Well... My dog, Dobby, has been scratching his ears a lot lately. Whenever I massage his ears, he looks completely blissful, contentedly moaning the whole time. I followed your advice and tried a little ACV and water on a cotton ball. He enjoyed it and let me do it for a minute and then kind of lost his mind a bit and wouldn't stop trying to eat the cotton ball! That was pretty strange. I got some wax out, at least. Thank you for the suggestions. We used to rub some coconut oil on his face and in his ears a couple of years ago because we thought he had puppy mange (turns out he's just got weird hair on his face that won't regrow, so he's patchy). I think we'll try to do that again every day.
i dont have any apple cider vinegar for a 50/50 with olive oil is alright if i use just olive oil for now? i will go to the shops when they open for some acv and coconut oil
my lad has a bit bad ear at minet I don't want to use any drops or ear cleaner solushion ovens resin's don't no if Mt it or so on in lower ear I'm I okay to start with with the cider mix and only a pleasant cider vinegar I can fined is with mother is that still ok
Thanks for the video. My dog keeps shaking his head and scratching his ear 👂 I read apple cider vinegar wasn’t good for dogs. I was about try it, but used organic witchhazel. Have you ever used it? Thx dog 🐶
@@slimbeatz4125 probably vets trying to keep us chaseing our tails. ACV has worked for all my dogs whether mixed with water or virgin olive oil. The key is to be patient and stick to it for at least 10 days before seeking more invasive solutions sold to vets.
Hi, i used the 1tbs and 1tbs method with water and APC. I dipped a bit of the solution in cotton bud and squeezed a few drops in my dogs ear. He started shaking his head alot straight after and I saw slight bit blood (I think thats from him scratching his ear). He was shaking constantly when i applied the solution for 5min and then he settled down. Is this normal?
i think its because ur dog was scratching its ears before and there were wounds, and now that u applied apple cider it definitely burned a lot for ur dog, so yeah it hurts them a bit and the dog will go crazy ( shake the head non stop, cry loudly, run around and will not sit still) im not a professional im saying all this based on my experience when i put apple cider on my dog :) best of luck
i mixed water with the apple cider vinegar and her ear seems to be doing a lot better. wen i was rubbing it in her ear i saw instant relief. also how often do i do this treatment?
Swelling, pus, bloody patches, bad odour..... This is whats happening in my dogs ear, will this method help?? Been to many doctor, game him lots of medicines and ear cleaners.... Nothing worked. Currently I use 6% Hydrogen Peroxide with water (2:1 ratio) to clean his ear everyday.
I definitely wouldn't recommend qtips for anyone without common sense and a bond with their dog. If the pup doesn't trust you and is in pain or discomfort, they can buck and flail, possibly causing more issues
What is home remedies on dog having vestibular disease, the eyes of my dog back to normal after the vestibular disease, but the problem is he can no longer stand up and cry a lot
how is your baby doing now? my 12 years old boy had an old dog vestibular disease and it was a total nightmare for all of us. His eyes were up and down and not stable for even a second. He gained his balance slowly. But sometimes if humidity is high and weather is hot, his head becomes slightly tilted like before. I think they need time for a full recover. Best wishes for your pup.
@@bengisukaykc3850 my dog survive from vestibular disease, it will take time just take care of him make sure his he will sleep in a soft area or foam and always change his beddings when it gets wet because his urine will damage his skin when always wet and cry with pain
