Hope you will enjoy! Yes, there are so many amazing gift ideas out there that you can already make now and just grab when Christmas comes. So no stressing out during the festive season. Do you know already what you are going to make?
Hello. I would love to see my crabmeat pasta salad recipe done! You will need 2tbs mayonnaise, box of bowtie pasta, 1 can of crabmeat or tiny shrimp or tuna etc, small red onion diced (1/4 cup) 2 pinches of ground grains of paradise or black pepper corns grated and ground like table pepper, pinch of salt, dash of cilantro. add all ingredients to the pre-boiled pasta (pasta cooked to favorite firmness. I prefer Al dente) chill before serving. Voila Enjoy!
@@barronmaxxx2991 Great idea...of course, beans and corn. I could have thought of these ingredients. Sorry for having bothered you. Thanks for your positive feedback on my recipe 🥰
@@MadameMinima no sorries. I just love your work...you're the arch angel of homemade Couture gifts and recipies. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well during this difficult and confusing time. prayers.
Wow! This is great, thank you 😍I had a jar full of apricot nuts, that my father, reserved for years. I never understood the reasons... Unfortunately, I was not able to have any answer do as he was an Alzheimer decease. I lost him last year at his 83's He was a great diplomat. God bless & rest in peace.
I don't see damsons normally, but my mother in law in England just brought us some in quarantine. I had no idea you can make things with the pits/stones of fruit!!! Fascinating to see you make it!
Hi Patz! Thanks for your video, amazing. I have a question: - What would be the durability of the liqueur after made it? Can I store it in the bottle for... 1-2 years? Thanks!
Hi, you can store it for at least 1 year for sure, until you harvest the next batch of plums. I have never had the opportunity to store it any longer as I am always offering mine as gifts. But I always keep one bottle for my family at home and this last for 1 one before it is empty. I don't know if this has been helpful.
This is not quite correct. The inner of the stone contains cyanide. If you use, as I did, the non-opened and non-damaged stones there is absolutely no risk. My family (and other people out there) has been drinking this for years and are still alive. Here is a link (in German, but maybe you'll find the ENG translation) eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/DE/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32010H0133&from=DE
@@MadameMinima I've been searching for research papers on the subject since I posted the reply. I can find plenty of papers listing the toxicity of ingesting whole kernels, (adults: 3 small or 1 large kernel could potentially be fatal) but I can't find anything with regards to whole kernels steeped in alcohol. Given that ethyl alcohol is an excellent organic solvent with very low surface tension, I wouldn't drink this unless I saw proof it was not toxic. Better hope all those apricot kernels are intact because ethanol will penetrate tiny cracks. I'm more than willing to change my mind if presented with facts to the contrary. I just couldn't find any.
@@reblackened Sorry to hear you don't speak any other language because this paper should convince you. I wonder if you have watched my video, so you would have seen that the stones are intact. I only can point out that you don't eat 3 kennels when drinking a glass of the liqueur. And the toxicity is according to the inner of the kennels. Well, you don't have to drink this. My family, over 3 generations now, has been doing it and will continue to do and so will all other people out there who enjoy this liqueur.
I need to add my voice here. Apricot kennels or any of the stone family contain vit B17, the cancer fighting agent. The cyanide is also there but... the amount is too small to do any harm. It actually makes an a trance in cancer cells so vit B17 can anger it and kill it. Please read about vit b17. Big pharma doesn’t want you to know about it. The apricot kernels are forbidden in EU. I buy mine from Canada. As prophylactic you take 2-4 a day, to fight cancer 7 a day. Stay healthy, eat some vit B17!
Madame Minima, I've never seen a pitter before. I'm surprised as a minimalist you have one but am very impressed with how it is put to use. My mother has a damson tree. I'm going to let her know about this pitting machine. Sorry that I don't have any great gift ideas!
This pitter is very old, I think it's for the 50s. It was my grandmother's and I am a baking/canning freak it helps me a lot and makes the work much easier 😉

Yes, it will for sure. My friends are always waiting for Christmas to arrive to get to taste it. I hope you will enjoy it. Do you have other good and easy homemade gift ideas?
Yes, that's great too. Last year I made "cookies in a jar". I layered all the ingredients for the cookie recipe on top of each other in a jar and gifted it with the recipe.
Hello, Madame Minima! Thank you for your beautiful video. And as a non-native English speaker, I REALLY appreciate for the English subtitle. I cannot wait to make my own amaretto with your recipe. But before that, can I ask you 2 questions? First, in Korea there is no damson but plums which is dark red outside and yellow inside. Is this kind of plum suitable for this recipe, too? I can see that you already wrote on the recipe 'damson, plum or apricot', but I'm not sure that the 'plum' you meant is the same 'plum' that I can find here.. So I wanted to know whether I can use the plum which have red skin and yellow flesh or not. If not, I just can use apricot instead, but I just wanted to check out.. And second, can I ask the name of the tool that you used to pit the plums at the beginning part of the video? I've already googled for 'pitter' but there was not the same one.. Thank you for sharing your great recipe again. Have a nice day. Bye! :D
Hi and thank you for your feedback. Yes, plums are perfectly fine to make this recipe too. Unfortunately, I can't give you an answer to your 2nd question. This tool belonged to my grandmother and it has at least 70 years. So I don't know how you would call it and I suppose it is no longer produced. But I had a quick google search and I found this one. Maybe it can be helpful for any further research. luprous.com/products/westmark-cherry-and-plum-stoner-retro
This year one handmade gift I will be making is chamomile and rose petal tea. It is simple, beautiful, and very calming. Besides these two ingredients, I add a oat straw and a piece of vanilla.
Of course! Two parts dried chamomile One part oat straw (I have also used plain oats.) One part dried rose petals A small piece of vanilla bean (1/2" - 1") sliced down the center (I reuse this at least once because my vanilla beans are PRECIOUS-Oh, the cost!!!) Sometimes I just add a bit of vanilla instead of the bean itself. This makes a most exquisite looking and tasting tea. PS I make my own vanilla and some of my beans are over twenty years old!)
@@cathleen537 I have never heard of "oat straw", I will have to look if I can find this. Thanks for your recipe....I make my own vanilla extract too. I have only started mine, last autumn/winter when I open the jar, it simply smells delicious.
