How to Make Homemade Ranch Dressing - Quick, Healthy & Delicious!

In this video, we share our favorite go-to healthy-ish homemade ranch dressing recipe. It's dairy free, gluten free, paleo and whole 30 compliant! 🎉
**IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN IMMERSION BLENDER--which I definitely recommend (I found mine at a yard sale for cheap)--you can use a regular blender or food processor in a pinch. The steps for making this easy ranch dressing the alternate way are as follows:
-Put all ingredients in food processor or blender (except for coconut milk and avocado oil). Pulse a few times.
-Measure out your 2/3 cup of oil--a liquid measuring cup with spout works great for this!
-SLOWLY pour the oil through the top of the lid of your blender (or food processor), grinding or pulsing constantly. This step should take 2 minutes or more--you don't want to add the oil too quickly or it won't emulsify properly.
-Once all the oil is added, put in the 2 tablespoons of coconut milk and pulse a few more times to incorporate.
That's it! Pour into your homemade ranch dressing storage container of choice and keep in the fridge for 1-1.5 weeks. :) Hope you and your family love it as much as we do!

Lindsay’s an absolute pro at the cooking demo videos. I think it’s actually really hard to do as you’ve got to say things out loud you take for granted and do it all in a way that people can see what you’re doing. Excellent job! Freezing in an ice cube tray is my sort of trick. I do it with jars of pesto when I do pasta or half ends up in the bin.

Great video would love to see more American meals and see if we actually have the same meal or how different it is. Always love new simple meals to cook. The only thing I can remember not liking was very traditional Turkish recipes when my mum in the 80s went to night school to learn Turkish cooking from a Turkish lady. It all had rose water in, I mean everything no one could eat it who took the course! Maybe it was from a particular part of Turkey but every week everyone threw the meals away.

Oh my gosh this is amazing! I don't really know for sure what makes ranch, ranch, so wasn't sure if it would really taste like "Ranch", and was sort of worried what if there's not enough flavour looking at the ingredients and amounts, but omg it's super flavourful and super authentic ranch; idk how else to put it! The amounts are perfect so don't second guess!! I couldn't get avocado oil so used Filippo Berio Mild & Light Olive Oil, and considering I'd run out of salt and we don't get onion/garlic powders as such in my supermarket (they're more typically in the format of salts or granules), I used a half teaspoon of onion salt instead, and ground garlic granules in a mortar and pestle to make it finer (probably not necessary but I could really smell the garlic coming off it once I did that), and it's come out perfect! Nicely thick and super flavourful without tasting too much of any one thing in particular, instead you can taste all the ingredients you want to, but still as a cohesive whole! I even popped the remaining coconut oil in the ice tray for my iced coffees :) Love everything about this recipe and video; I'd love to see more like this. For anyone looking and considering/doubting; give this a try!! It's amazing!! 👏👏👏

Thank you lol. Ranch is very popular here in the states, probably more so in the south and midwest. I hope you can try it at some point. We've heard it's a rare find in the UK, but can be found in some places. As for avocado oil, we love it. It's one of the healthier plant based oils, along with olive, but has a much higher smoke point. So it's good for both low temperature recipes and some cooking.

Nicely done, quick and easy. Nice tip on the icecube tray, never thought of that. Keep it up, cookery vidoes are a nice relaxing watch for me. I know we've adopted you guys as "almost British" 🤣and we've seen you do some stuff along those lines - you could do a pretty mild curry easily (coconut milk/base). Personally I'd do a ~very spicy one and marindade it for at least 24 hours, but Steve would be able to handle a mild one, the curry powder's not at all hot" but it is "spicy - just don't add any chilies into it (for Steve) + maybe go easyy on the Paprika too. It's a "bad" ingredient - Ghee (not healthy), but you won't get the "proper" flavour without + you don't need to use much.

Lindsay you are a natural in front of the camera. You explain so well, thank you. I have never had ranch dressing, it's not a big thing here in Ireland but this looks yummy so I am going to make it and serve it to the family see what they think. Love how it has no bad or nasty stuff in it, homemade is always best.

They sell it in Tesco. It's not great tbh. I didn't like it anyway.

The one I'm wearing came from an etsy shop, but there are tons on amazon as well that are very similar. Here's the link to the one I have: www.etsy.com/listing/1215797786/5-colors-kitchen-apron-with-pockets?ref=yr_purchases

I’ve been waiting to watch this for a few days so I could write it down. Thanks guys ❤ very good to know and great tip with the extra coconut milk; I’ve never done that before. Quick question though: is it ok to eat a raw egg? Cause that goes into the ranch. I get that it’s probably to make it creamy, but is there anything you can use instead?
@steveandlindsay
@steveandlindsay 3 месяца назад
I haven't tried this recipe without using egg, unfortunately, but you could possibly find some vegan mayonnaise and turn that into a ranch dressing if you're concerned about the raw egg. Everyone has to make their own risk assessments, but for us personally, using raw egg hasn't been an issue.

Thanks I'll try that sometime. I've often wondered what this "ranch dressing" tastes like. Every one of those ingredients is something we always have at hand. We have Dill and Parsley in the garden and just pick it as we need it. Coconut milk is something I use regularly in my home made curries. So I could just put a little aside for the dressing next time I make one. You should make this a regular spot. I'm sure a lot of American recipies would make me cringe but this one sounds really good so you could possibly prove me wrong.

Ranch is not that popular here but next time i have visitors over or doing a buffet i will make this and see what they think. Homemade is always better than shop bought.

Lindsay, this was really professional and the delivery was just right (not too quick as I loose the thread). Have often wondered what's in Ranch, was suprised to see coconut milk especially. I've all the ingredients except the garlic & onion salt but will be giving this a go when I purchase some!. Also the tip for the coconut milk is excellent - I've not though about adding to my smoothies - I knew to freeze it as my friend, who is Indian, taught me how to make the basic curry paste and she prepares & freeze most of the components, included grated ginger/onion etc.
