Lady I thank you so much for this video and I will be doing this, I had the very same experience I waited 2 week and I hate holding up orders this is a game changer for me . This looked so good it made me think of cake frosting
I use this recipe also, it’s so much nicer than the premade I’ve gotten premade as well.. can I ask where you get your sci powder? The place that takes long with the shipping, (I know the company you’re referring too) they charge a pretty decent amount for 5lbs.. more than a bucket of the premade..
Hey❤ I bought my SCI from Nature's Garden Candles. I just checked the price for 5 lbs from the "they who shall not be named" lol, and good Lord! You should definitely check this link: www.naturesgardencandles.com/soap-making-supplies/soap-additives/clays-powders/sodium-cocoyl-isethionate I don't know how much shipping will be for you, but I'm positive that even with shipping you'll still do better with them. Thanks for watching! Rock on!
Thank you! It's not hard, just a little time consuming waiting for it to melt to the right consistency. It does give your arm a workout trying to mix it at first. Don't give up. Keep going and it'll be fine. Thanks for watching ❤️
Thanks for sharing this! I'm dropping a comment to send your channel some love and support. I'm lookin' to start my own brand/channel too! I just subscribed to your channel.
Awe, thank you! That's a great question. Of course, a lot of it will depend on your skin. The sugar (or salt, if that's what you're using) removes the dead, dry skin. I don't recommend using it daily because you can easily irritate the skin underneath. Start with twice a week, and if your skin does well with that, but you still feel like you want to exfoliate more, then go up to three times. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching💖
Lovely job. Very similar to the recipe use.... just subscribed to ur channel I'm a fellow bath and body product creator... love ur personality and I can definitely relate to making messes while working 😆... love ur southern accent btw...I'm from NC and I've got that twang too 😆 God bless and hope to see many more of your beautiful Creations
Thank you! I'm not sure about what you are asking. I found this. I hope this helps! I appreciate your viewership😊 "Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids, which is why it’s often touted for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and *improve elasticity* . The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture." - www.healthline.com/health/beauty-skin-care/cocoa-butter-benefits
It's really wonderful, can I ask, with extra additives would you need more preservative? I've made one from another bath and body channell and it's really not as firm, but i also have a paid recipe which is similar in consistency, thanks for your video xx
Hi! Once you have decided how much you want to make and figured out how much of each ingredient you're going to use, then you will want to figure out the percentage for the preservative. You may or may not need to increase the amount you use, depending on the size of the batch you're going to make. I hope that helps, lol. I'd love to see the video you watched that gave you a softer consistency for your base. I loooove trying new things! 😁Have a great day. Thanks for watching! 🍒🎸
@@CherryRockCreations Thank you for your reply xx Body haven soaps on RU-vid have a video on the softer one she's good, her name is Darlene. I do love yours too x
I'm not sure how the recipe will turn out if you use e-wax in place of stearic acid. I haven't tried it that way. You could experiment with a small batch and see :) Thanks for watching!
Hi! The usage rate for Germall Plus is .5% - 1%. I made a 300 g batch in this video and added 1% of the preservative, which came out to 3 g. I haven't heard or seen to use 1 g per pound. Perhaps that is for a different type of preservative?
That is an excellent question. I've heard that you can use SLS instead of SCI, but I haven't tried it myself. I may have to try that in the future. Let me know how it turns out if you try it. Thanks for watching!
I just researched some of the ingredients to see if they are pet safe. This recipe includes Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which is not good for our furry friends. I wouldn't use this formula for pets. Thank you for the question and for watching! Have a great day😁
Hey😁 I'm not sure what you're asking. The ingredients will eventually melt down. It takes a long time, especially because you don't want to use high heat. You may even want to use a double-broiler to melt everything. You have to keep mixing even when it's really thick. Once it melts, it thins out a lot, and it's way more manageable. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching❤️
How do you figure out the recipe to make 3 pounds of foaming soap base. This recipe is only a very small I guess batch and I would like to use these ingredients but make 3 pounds of base. And I always get really confused on the Trying to figure out the measurements to make the face so can you please help me out and try to figure out the recipe for 3 pounds of your backflip if you can do that I really really appreciate it thanks
Hey there! 3 pounds of the foaming soap base is going to be about 1350 grams. Using the recipe, I believe these are the amounts you will need. The weight in ounces is approximate. You won't be as accurate using ounces as you would using grams. I recommend you start with a small batch to make sure you like the formula 😊 I hope this helps! 270 g Distilled Water (9.5 oz) 418 g SCI (14.75 oz) 67 g Stearic Acid (2.35 oz) 270 g Cocamidopropyl betaine (9.5 oz) 310 g Glycerin (11 oz) 15 g Germall Plus (.5 oz)
Thanks so very much so I take this recipe you just made me and it should make a batch of 3 pounds thanks if I was to use Optiphen as a preservative will I use the same gram what you have thanks.
Thank you. I was watching your video and everything is in % so how do we follow your video at home to make I guess your 8oz batch. You did not right down the grams next to % for people that stupid or confused on following the recipe lol. How much oz are that bottle of preservative that you are using.
divabarrie08 Lol, it's confusing to figure the amounts from % for sure! I gave the % instead of the actual weight of the ingredients because some people use grams and some people use oz. I see where that can be confusing❤ My bottle of Germall Plus is 4 oz. Here's what you need to make approximately 3 lbs (1350 grams): 9.5 oz Distilled Water 14.75 oz SCI 2.35 oz Stearic Acid 9.5 oz Cocamidopropyl betaine 11 oz Glycerin 0.5 oz Germall Plus
@@CherryRockCreations how do u add items without messing with the preservative amount. For instance if I want 2 add sugar...shunt the sugar b incorporated into the recipe...not after?.
Hey, this is a great question. When figuring out the preservative amount for your sugar scrub, you would definitely want to include the amount of sugar in your recipe to determine how much preservative to use. However, in this video I'm making the whipped soap base. I add preservative to this base per the amount of ingredients I use for this particular item. When I'm ready to make a sugar scrub I measure out "x" amount of this base for my sugar scrub recipe, along with any oils, fragrance, sugar, etc. I add preservative to the sugar scrub based on all of my ingredients, including the sugar. I'm essentially adding preservative twice. Once to the batch of whipped soap base, and then again when I make sugar scrub from the base. I hope this helps😊
