Thank you so much!! I know your instructions are for hummingbird fountains but I have a stray cat that I feed and the water is in one of the self filling bowls with the water bottle attached. After a day or two he doesn't drink it or you can see it turning greenish in the bottle. I worry that he is not getting enough to drink as cats are known for urinary tract infections. So when I saw your little fountain, I thought this could work for him. With the solar power I do not have to worry about a power source or a tripping hazard because of the power cord. The water trickles not sprays and is constantly aerated. Perfect!!! I have already ordered my water pump and planning my trip to Walmart for the rest of the supplies. Again, thank you. Pudgy deserves every kindness I can give him. 🥲😽

You can use most any bowl, check the bottom for the rim, and that is what is great, they can sit on it, and I have had these set up since last year, shame on me for taking too long, but these are fun and so easy to put together, all the birds come into this type mainly to drink, the hummingbirds come in to bath on the "ball" shape dome, Thanks so much!!!

Oh my gosh Robbie ! I am so excited I discovered your channel. I currently have made three baths and an improved feeder. I got to have a mama the first year of experimentation, I live in Vermont and hummingbirds seem sparse here , she brought her babies the first time and hovered while they sat and fed. I now count 5, 2 little green adults 2 babies and one with a red throat, thanks to you!!! I binge watch you every time YOUTube comes on. Your amazing, please keep your vids coming.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel, Robbie! I have a plot in a community garden that I have designated some area as habitat for pollinators and birds and have been looking for a way to keep both the bird and pollinators hydrated - definitely going to give one of these a try! Hi Robbie, we made a pink solar fountain about a week ago after I saw your video on the dollar tree buckets and plates. We have several kinds of birds and yes, we definitely have hummingbirds but none seem to be too interested in the water fountain. My husband and I enjoy the fountain whether the birds do or not. Thank you for all your suggestions and help with gardening and solar fountains.

We are enjoying it even if the birds don’t

I live in Monroe GA USA, I had made 2 of these hummingbird water fountains, June 2022. I had used the 5" styrofoam balls ( from Michael's ), per Robbie's previous podcast. They are awesome, but to date no hummingbirds have come over to them. I have placed it just below the hummingbird feeders but the hummingbirds are not coming over. It has been in the high 90's temperature and thought they would need to have a water fountain too. I will keep waiting. The solar is great but once the sun leaves the area the water fountain stops of course. I had purchased an electric water pump too, & plan to have it run from 7am to 9pm during the summer months. Thank you Robbie......I love your videos.

Best way to help your bees, gradually get rid of grass and plant dutch clover which also fixes nitrogen. I use it in the garden and beds as it cools the soil and again feeds nitrogen. It reseeds itself and spreads.

I don't get hummers, but I like this fountain and the pop bottle one too. Need to order a couple more solar kits. They make just enough sound to give a peaceful atmosphere. I have one set up just as a fountain in a large flower pot. The spray was too large for our normal pedestal birdbath, so a fountain it is!

Hi Robbie and Gary I hope you are having a Happy 4th! Question…I have made 2 small fountains but have not seen any takers….How long did it take for the hummers to discover your fountains? I have 3 feeders on my patio and one on my covered porch. I’ve seen a Mom and a baby drink out of just one of the feeders on the patio and a few others visit my other feeders. Is there way to put this on a stand? My dogs will definitely be going after the birds. I can hang it, but they may not like being so close to my living room window and any activity inside.

Robbie has them everywhere; I have an extra small patio table which I’m going to put in my flower garden & set mine on it so my dogs don’t go over & drink the water from the bubbler, just hope the raccoons don’t get into it.

Robbie…love, love your channel….you have inspired me to try and make this bowl, plate and bucket bird bath. It turned out cute but I have one problem: the water squirts way up in the air instead of bubbling like yours…I put ample holes in the plate so the water when it does hit the plate drips to the bucket below. I tried just the tubing poking out ever so slightly from the the hole in the plate…water shot way yo. I used the fountain attachments--the one with most holes….that shot the water way up. My solar fountain is the same size as yours…it is just super powerful. Any suggestions? I was thinking of covering half the solar panel to see if that would send less power to the pump…anxious to hear what you think

Every time I have ordered a solar fountain from Amazon they guarantee that it is a continual flow fountain kit. But after I receive it the fountain just pulsates. So I found your channel and I'm going to try the link that you offer for your fountains you purchase on eBay. I hope that link leads me to a continual flow fountain.

I made a fountain out of a short big plate. But I think the bigger birds don't care much for the water pump. I'm going to take it out and do this for the smaller birds, I notice they don't go into the water much.

I'm so disappointed because I made a fountain like this and have had no visitors! It's been about a week, and we have another solar bird bath that is more frequented. Does it take awhile before the birds notice the new bath? Thanks for being such a great champion of our feathered friends, Robbie. I read that we've lost 3 billion songbirds in the US alone, in just 50 years 😢

It can take time till they trusted and use it, but once your simple house finches or whatever bird you’ve got there, start using it everybody else will too. The other thing is you’ve got a fountain you made that they like so they may continue to use that one and not bother with this one so quickly. Try to put some plants near the new fountain and see if that works. Give it time 😊 Thank You

Thank you for the advice. I have quite a few goldfinches and purple house finches at the old water hole. I haven't given up hope yet; maybe the hummers will discover my newly-made one, just for them! :)
