I love your tutorials. I have been making small displays for toy photography using the techniques (or at least trying to) that I learn here and it has been a lot of fun.

What I like to do, is to once you've put down the tape for painting the lines, is to go over it once more with the black. This helps to avoid the yellow creeping in under the tape, ruining the line.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. I'll need to do this on a 2' square piece of foam. Do you have a link of a cement wall? I shoot Hot Wheel cars and want a scene that looks like a parking lot car get-together.
@OilersWorkshop
@OilersWorkshop 5 месяцев назад
Just use some solid EPS foam and paint it according to my How To Paint Miniature Concrete Video, it’s a good place to start

I build 1/25 scale model cars and I found that the finely ground cork sheets make the most realistic small scale streets, but it can be hard to find. You can also buy cork shelf paper that has adhesive on the back which makes attaching it to another surface much easier. I stick it to styrene plastic and the stuff stay stuck no problem. Never stuck it to foam so I don't know how well that works. I found this trick totally by accident when I was throwing out an old business post wall that was broken...
@OilersWorkshop
@OilersWorkshop 7 месяцев назад
Awesome! I’ve used the sticky back cork as well, it does NOT stick well to foam but you can add adhesive and make it work

Have you done a video on foam cutters or a review on the one you use? I'm in the market for one and I like using that pink foam from Home Depot as well.
@OilersWorkshop
@OilersWorkshop 2 года назад
I have not done a review but I am planning on upgrading mine soon, mine is from HWFF.com but lots of people use a PROXXON, there are other brands though

Great video. I am doing on 1/87 scale. Do you recommend cork sheet or other suitable material for that scale?
@OilersWorkshop
@OilersWorkshop Год назад
You can also try Sand Paper, glue it down with epoxy or epoxy spray glue

Im so thankfull for your tutorials. There's one thing I'm afraid of: I bought some decoration stones that just look like broken streets and come in 3 different sizes. when using dirt or in my case stone, is it important to cover them with layers of color or clear coat even if the color's just right? Will it destroy the plastic of my figures if I use it as it is?
@OilersWorkshop
@OilersWorkshop 2 года назад
With prepainted products I wouldn’t worry about it but if YOU ad paint especially acrylic a sealer would be ideal like spray MATTE CLEAR or a misting of a glue and water mixture through a spray bottle
@Pharaoman
@Pharaoman 2 года назад
@@OilersWorkshop thanks for the fast reply. I was more worried about raw natural materials like stone. Would it scratch the plastic even if its just laying an it without moving and would a layer of coating prevent that?
@OilersWorkshop
@OilersWorkshop 2 года назад
@@Pharaoman I don’t think it would hurt the figure now

Oh I’ve shared these techniques across many videos, I’m not in the habit of simply recreating my own work I usually come up With something new everytime for a build and then the applied skills become the videos
