ইলিশ has somehow managed to take a place of pride in the hearts of millions of Bongs. It is the Bengal monsoon that brings with it the ‘ইলিশ season’, simply for the fact that this fish tastes the best during monsoon.
This week we have come up with another simple and interesting recipe that you can try with this fish.
ইলিশ বিরিয়ানি (Ilish/Hilsa biryani) is basically a bengali recipe of aromatic basmati rice and hilsa fish which is cooked in a dum pukht style. This recipe is a new addition to our kolkata style biryani.
It’s a perfect punch of Bengali's two favorite dishes, hilsa fish or ilish mach and kolkata style biryani.
It’s almost the same as kolkata’s chicken or mutton biryani recipes but the added flavour and spices are mild to keep the hilsa flavor intact.
