It’s crazy how now that I’ve played with the settings, the difference from stock game to filter applied is something I don’t think I can ever go back from. Great work, and much appreciation for all the helpful iracing content you put out. Cheers!
This is great - I've hated the look of iRacing since I started in it in 2019 but I enjoy the racing so I've lived with it. With this I can make it look more true to natural colors - Thanks!
LOL, I never searched for this topic and when i search i get like 20 mins old video :) thanks mate :P I remember your car, we raced in the same endurance split Barcelona 12h :) and my friend almost drove into you when you guys ran out of fuel if i remember correctly.
I forgot about this video until it was mentioned on humpday . Unbelievable difference the picture quality has improved massively. Thanks for the information
Here's something to be aware of... if you keep the "in-game overlay" option ticked it will kill your computer's ability to go into screen saver. Just something to be aware of. I sometimes like to step away from my machine for a little while and let it run a slideshow of images I've shot in game. Searching for this topic, it appears this has been an issue for several years that Nvidia isn't keen on fixing.
Doesn't matter if GE doesn't see game, just setup overlay in GE, run iRacing, get in car then hit alt+f3. First attempt I had to restart game once but now it's fine. Thanks for more useful tips David!
Hi Dave, Brilliant video as always, I will be trying this tomorrow, Thanks for all the great informative videos on your channel they are always straight forward and easy to understand, You should have a million subs, Have a great weekend and happy racing 🏎️🏎️🏁
One thing u noticed tho is that you use DOF (Depth of feild) this is greyed out on my replay settings I have no idea why! Is there something I need to activate to get that on?
Well, thanks for the video and I also tried that out but I have to tell you for someone playing on a 4K HDR television set RGB gamut to “full” iRacing looks absolutely gorgeous on stock settings 👍
Hi David, great video. I have learnt a lot from your videos and are always much of help. With this one I have an issue that is when I press alt+F3 after iRacing it's running I get an error from the Nvidia software saying "An error occurred. Please restart your game to use this feature". I did it many times but always the same error. Did you ever heard about this issue? Thanks again for all your videos 😉
I'm trying to use the game filter for iRacing, I've set "connect sockets" to 1. When I try to use the game filter, I get a pop up from nVidia saying "A supported game is required to use this feature." Any clue what may be wrong?
perfect tips & tricks video as always and it looks way better and that's what iracing needs! Just one thing, why is your mic/voice so distorted and not enjoyable crisp clear? think it's too loud, noticed this on your race videos too! btw Daytona was a great race too, cheers!
hello, I followed the steps you said, everything is up to date, everything is as it should be. but when iracing is on, when I open ctrl+alt+z and press game filter, it doesn't click. what could be the solution
I always get a message saying a"A supported game is required to use this feature when I use ALT Z. I have edited and saved the core.ini file in iracing. What am I doing wrong? I have just reinstalled geforce experience. Great video by the way, very helpful.
Great video but it should be noted that using an Nvidia game filter will tax your GPU. My GTX 1060 6Gb produces approx 20% less FPS running an overlay in iRacing.
Awesome Dave, thank you! One issue I'm running into is it won't work using the UI, only when I log in through the web site. I get a "A supported game is required to use this feature" error. Any tips or setting suggestions? (I have it pointing to both C:/Program files)
Ever since i have done this in the video iracing keeps sticking atfter it loads up and doesn’t show a picture . And I keep getting a counter in the top left of my screen??
Reshade stopped working so I was going to try this. It tells me iRacing is not a supported game? 🤷♂Unrelated but Race labs just recently stopped working too It tanks my framerate. like from around 100 fps to around 10...Guess I'm back to iRacing vanilla again. Something about the latest build of iRacing or just really unlucky.
@@Sampsoid I tried it. It looks way better... But the game stutters a lot unfortunately. I have the fps locked at 83 and it never goes below 83, but the game looks pretty choppy while using the filter. I have a 1080-TI, i5-7600K running triple 1440, most settings on low and both gpu and cpu are running at around 60%. Without the filter it runs really smooth, then as soon as I add the filter it runs choppy :( I reinstalled Nvidia experience twice and turned the filter on and off multiple times to make sure it was not a one time thing. So I can't really use it. Sad because it looks way better indeed. Maybe when I upgrade somewhere in the future i'll try again.
when i use nvidia filters it gives me error codes in sim and i cant race. but i can use these filters for replays just fine *edit didnt realize how crucial the core.ini part was. that solved the error code i was getting
David I have the same monitor as you but I can’t stream or make my videos without having the super distortion from the ultra wide monitor? How do you fix this? Obs?
@@Sampsoid hey David, this seems to have received a lot of positive feedback! Have you done one for the amd cards yet as I was unable to find it? Many thanks mate, great work 👍
Hi Dave, I’ve configured the overlay, but it won’t launch the first time I ask after opening iRacing, it comes up with an error that a suitable game isn’t running, so I have to close iRacing and open iRacing again and then the overlay will launch, any ideas why it is doing this?
For everyone saying that it is not supported, I had to go into my Graphics options in game and switch it to full screen and then get out of iRacing and go back in. I dont know if it needs to stay in full screen to work after that. Let me know what you find!
It keeps telling me an error occurred or a supported game required. I’ve tried reinstalling the driver…a previous driver version…GeForce experimental tab. Nothing works. Any other ideas?
Just be careful you don't blow out your shadows and highlights with this. During a long race it WILL give you a headache. Does save you having to use reShade however, although I do miss using the AMD Fidelity CAS. Works even better if you are running a HDR compatible monitor in HDR mode as well. Also, ALT- Zed...
