In my home they don't use the one which we get in medical.my gran used to tell that there r 2 types.one is nylon and the other is cotton.most of the time we get nylon one in medical which is more bright.the other one is pure cotton which is bit light in colour which is available in shops where we get camphor or agarbhatti which we usually use.u can feel the difference when u make wicks of ur own or when u touch it.nowadays people use the one in medical shop which they tell is not good for lighting diyas.
