When I was young my grandmother, who hardly ever used canned food but she'd cook this canned corned beef and cabbage with white rice and crackling cornbread and to this day I would pick that over steak. My grandmother, (may she rest in peace) was a heck of a cook. Love you grandmother Rosetta Green who was born on Christmas day.

I was born and raised in Scotland and I am as British as can be. I grew up on and still love a simple corned beef sandwich on crusty white bread with some onion and or tomato and even HP brown sauce! 😎 This recipe looks great. Can’t wait to try it! 😋

I was just telling someone yesterday that cabbage with left over rice n peas is the most delicious thing. I can imagine it with the corned beef. Just last nite I was shopping for barrel to send to Ja & bought a can of corned beef, yet I'm not a meat eater anymore. When I was single I used to make lots of corned beef n cabbage, yummy!

Please tell Deddy to use a wooden or plastic spoon on his new nonstick pan.. I don’t want Deddy to scratch the pot with the fork.. but I know that all immigrants always forget and use their go spoons and forks when dealing with nonstick pots and pans.. Other than that, Deddy has outdone himself again! #lawdofmercy .. I just love how Deddy carriers himself especially when it comes to cleaning the vegetables and meats (3 times with vinegar) and while he’s cooking.. his food always turns out because he puts soooo much love into his cooking!! God bless him and your whole family!

I made this today and I love it! Will be eating this way from now on. Only thing different I did was boil out the corned beef in water for 30 minutes because I have high blood pressure. It was absolutely perfect! Thanks Deddy and family!

I'm back, back, back, back, back. In Deddy's Kitchen! I just love Deddy's Kitchen! Daddy always makes me smile and brings joy and happiness to my heart. His entire family is so warm and welcoming. Daddy definitely needs his own cooking show on national tv. I like how Deddy basically uses the same seasonings and chopped vegetables in all of his videos. He simplifies his recipes. I plan to make some of the dishes, but I cannot find the Flavo Rice in my area. I'm patiently waiting to see a brown stew fish and bammy video.

My mother married a Jamaican and had her wedding in Jamaica in 1975. The whole family went, so there was no money left over. We ate canned corn beef for a week. I haven't eaten it since, lol... ~M

It's a nice take on this. I've never thought about adding peppers. It kind of become a tradition for st Patrick's day, at my house. We usually use a slow cooker, a corned beef roast, onions, carrots, potatoes, and garlic. And then we have leftovers for days

Enjoy watching your cooking show. But you cannot say the seasonings are salt free beacsue seasoning salt and flavorice has salt in it so it's best to say additional salt is not added to your meals.

One of my favorites. Quick and tasty. I use butter beans when I can't be bothered to cut up cabbage. Also, my late Daddy used to make cornbeef sandwich with cornbeef out of the tin (not cooked up) with onions, scotch bonnet a black pepper.❣️

When we travel to Jamaica we buy the Harddough Bread and Corned Beef with a little bit of onion and black pepper and make sandwiches .As you all know they dont feed you on the plane.It is so Good.

Canned corned beef is not expensive. The price of Spam or beef tripe in can. If you want to reduce the saltiness of a corned beef brisket, bring it to boil and boil around 10 minutes (without pickling seasoning packet) pour water off. You then add fresh water to brisket and seasoning packet and bring to boil again then reduce fire to simmer. You can also substitute a pickled beef tongue for a corned brisket, it is less salty but taste like corned beef.

Ah yes. Fire truck. We make it a little different in the Bahamas..but basically the same thing. My dad makes it a little thicker and serves over grits for breakfast. Rice and a little runnier sauce for dinner. Whenever I make it, my friends beg me to make it again and again for them. Cheap but very filling. Comfort food. Tfs.🚒😁 New subscriber because of this video. 😁👍 A island staple. We add a tablespoon or two of tomato paste and a little water to create a sauce. Hence the name fire truck.

I used to play on the road in bands back in the 70's and 80's. Back then, a loaf of bread was like a treasure chest. We were always broke, and hungry. I learned to love canned corned beef sandwiches on white bread baby! With either mustard, mayo, or sometimes Horse Radish! Yummy! .......and if you had some lettuce? Then we got Subs.
