Why would someone not like this fruit cake? I tried it today and I have never made one this perfect. I also added some more spices to mine. The texture is what am always looking for. Not switching it to try anything else. Fantastic job lady!

I do a bit of baking but I've always found black cake to be challenging. This recipe was so easy to follow, and it came out perfect. Thank you. This is a keeper.
I love this recipe! Its the perfect cake texture to me. The only change I make is instead of flour and browning I just use chocolate boxed cake. Then after mixing the cake I add more liquor ha!

Lovely Mommy, I tried your recipe and method, and let me tell you, it taste good and the texture is like cake not pudding.....I LOVE IT!!!! Aw that’s going to be amazing. I made this rum cake for my wedding day guests as a party favor. I poured the batter into mini bundt cake molds and boxed them up. Happy anniversary! ❤️
Guys, do this recipe, it's so amazing, fluffy, moist. I already had the fruit soaked in whisky, rum and black beer. I altered to 1,5 cup of sugar, I've used 1 tbsp of mixed spice, instead of browning, I've used 2 tbsp of cocoa. It took me 3 hours in the oven, but it was worth the wait ❤ Def it's going to my recipe book 👏🏾

@@lovelymommytv5567 yeah! I feel like brandy will make it bitter. I tried the first time with port wine + dark rum and I think the wine made it quite 🔥. And so I'm thinking only dark rum. But yes, will also try fruit wine, never tried that😬🙌
I bake this cake Sunday and both of my cake came out so good only thing I would put a little more rum next time thanks for the great recipe 😋 and it was my first time baking it

I ended up following your recipe for the fruit blend but it only made about 2 cups. Will this still yield the same result? I’m so excited to make this for Xmas and it’s my first time!
This cake turned out delicious. I also added some ground ginger & almond and butter extract to my cake for extra flavor. I had to adjust my baking time though, at 1.6 hours the outside of my cake was firm but inside was very wet so I lowered the oven temperature an put it back in there for another 35 mins or so.I’ll try cooking it on 325 next time to see if I prefer the difference. Overall really good recipe, & great flavor. My Jamaican Hubby approved, he said he could really taste the wine & rum. Respect. Thanks & keep up the recipes !
Another thing you like a teacher I like the fact that you do it by hand something nobody does anymore but use machines I think it’s better to show how to do it by hand then afterwords use the machine thank you again JP from Miami

You’re one of the few people that lists salt in your cake, which automatically makes me trust you more 😂. Gotta have salt in everything! There’s so many ways to make this cake that it’s hard to decide on which way. I made some that I baked at a lower temperature and they were delicious, but I’m really curious to try baking at a higher temperature like this for more of a cake texture. The good news is that no matter what the cake turns out delicious as long as you soak the fruit for a while!
