Here’s my updated @capemalaycooking Koesister recipe.
I’ve never increased the amount of spices I use ever so slightly. I find the spices aren’t so flavourful or lack the potency of before, don't know if it's just me and my taste buds 😊
You can try my spice recommendations or adjust according to your palate.
My spices include:
fine cardamom, I buy the whole cardamoms and grind in a coffee grinder that I only use for spices
ginger powder
cinnamon powder
mixed spice
ground aniseed
whole aniseed
ground naartjie or satsuma peels, which I've dried out and grind in the coffee grinder
cake flour/plain flour/ all purpose flour
sugar
yeast
salt
eggs
milk
