Just an FYI from one crafter to another, the mask used does not protest against harmful fumes. It is a particle mask and only meant for dust. In order to be protected against fumes you need a facemask that cups over your nose and mouth and has add on air filters. They run about 35$ at Lowe's or home depot and are usually located in the paint section.
+Christina Lin wow thank you! I'll need to get one! I have a phobia of things that cover my breathing/ access to circulating air, so it might be a challenge for me to try those bigger masks 😭
NerdECrafter yeah, they are kind of weird they cup over your whole nose and mouth and strap back behind your head. It does take some getting used to but it protects against so much, and you can replace the air filters after a while . I use mine when I build items out of craft foam as the glue I use is super toxic and will probably get you feeling light headed in no time flat. My dad told me about them as he's been in construction for year and was a painter for a while.
NerdECrafter I don't know if you already have one of those masks (been binging on your videos to ease finals stress). But a lot of people swear by vogmasks. They have an air filter and fit more like the one you are wearing.
The mermaid thing did not look all too special at first, but when you showed it coming out of the final water mold... It did look magical. I also have noticed you call your new supplies delicious too... like Katvalk... so silly.
+Timothy Messer LOL I blame kattvalk. She made me say delicious art supplies 😂😂😂 I love chunky glitters in this project. You seem to know all the same channels I watch too!
NerdECrafter I am starting to see that trend too. I found some channels I liked and now they share views, subs, and mannerisms. Kinda fun to watch all of you. Make my relaxation time after work worth while.
Seeing different takes on the same materials makes me feel like there is more than one way to do this project. Love your work. Your idea of uploading together in a crafting group sounds great.
OMG I never use the UV resin because I thought I needed a special light. I have those black light UV flashlights. I have 12 of them. BTW I have been scrapbooking for the past 2 days and I can no longer see my floor. If I don't respond to your next video, call 911
Damn! I love watching this maybe if I don't be lazy I can try my hand at something like this, it's do beautiful. Also wow imagine a Phoenix down potion 😲😱🤩 that would be amazing!
Really pretty!! I like what you did with all the supplies from this month's Elves Box! I'm thinking of trying resin and polymer clay soon (once I have a better idea for a project and can afford it a bit more). Do you know what kind of paint works well on polymer clay? I find painting things to be pretty relaxing (lately I've been painting a Nerf gun with old nail polish but I've heard this wasn't good for polymer clay).
Its been a while since I watched your vids. I forgot how much I love them. Keep up the awesome work...ps your looking absolutely gorgeous lately! Lol I couldn't hold that back. Xoxo
This might sound like a silly question but what brand uv light do you use. I've heard that not all uv lights work on resin some only work on the gel nail polish. I'm just a beginner when it comes to resin lol. Love watching your videos!!!! Thanks♡
LOL, I love how i have seen you mention a few times that you hate graphite and how messy it is.. You also say you're just learning to sketch...I just wanted to say i have known several artists. Some Amazing and some not so, But i will tell you this...I have NEVER seen a true artist with clean hands!!! They usually have graphite or charcoal All Over Them! So don't sweat it!
OH MY GOD!!!! Ok, i guess i have to explain! Iridescent- clear but has a rainbow shift. Oil Spill- black background with a wavy waterlike rainbow *HOLOGRAPHIC (ONE THAT PPL SAY THAT HOLOGRAPHIC AND IRIDESCENT ARE THE SAME THING NO THEYRE NOT!!!)- silver with a rainbow shift*
What if i have a two piece spherical silicon mold with a hole at the top? Could i line the insides with resin and decorate the bottom part then join the two pieces and then add the liquid and glitter and close it up afterwards?
Could you put something in the title about scrawlbox? Cause I was waiting for it and was wondering when the next one would come out, till I watched this video Btw. love your videos, super inspiring and fun to watch :D keep going!!
Jackie, Does sophie and toffie charge s&h? How much do you get charged? Also, how long does the resin take to harden with the uv torch? Does the temp of the room have anything to do with it Harding or not?
+veronica perez shipping depends on your country and how much you buy :) uv light will help the resin harden in about 1-5 minutes usually. Some resin brands can take up to 30 minutes to harden
I love the video! :) i have a problem with both my led tourtches; I cant get hem to work! :`D Could you make a tutorial for dummys on how to put batteries in the led tourtch from sophie and toffe and how to use it? :`D
I have an idea for a challenge! So the challenge is where you only use 5 craft supplies not including tools. Also you have to insert glitter to the project! Be creative and have fun! (the glitter does not count as part of the 5 supplies)
Hey Jackie!! Haven’t watched the vid I was just wondering I subscribed to the elves box in early/mid September, do you know when I should expect my first box?? Like I mean how many months does it take for them to get started... I received a separate order from them yesterday but not the elves box yet. Please let me know if you can cuz I can’t find anything in my account or the website telling me anything about my personal subscription. Anyway can’t wait to see what you’ve made! 🦄🎀💜
hi jackie, when i use my uv resin (the qiaoqiao brand) it cures sticky no longer how long i keep it under my uvlight torch, it’ll be hard but sticky, and makes it difficult to do cute crafts. do you have any idea why this is happening?
C-lion I've had the same problem. I have started putting my finished and still sticky projects outside but in a clear plastic box. The box protects the project and the clear allows the sun to come in and dry it more.
