Mom and I bought a cricit for fun and suddenly people are calling about my shirts thanks for this, my mom now said she is done charging zero for friends. Your so helpful!
I don't really advertise myself as a 'business' really, but friends know that I have one and will ask me to make shirts for them for certain occasions or decals for their cars and things like that. the one thing I have personally learned is its best to get it done immediately or as soon as possible. because design space will either be down or have a random update that causes problems if you put it off until a few days before they want the item. I've had DS not load for 2 days and my friends had needed a gift for someone that weekend and it came down to the wire. I like cricut, but it is a risky business to completely depend on them and their software to go full time and make a living off of it.
Make sure you accommodate for these things. Tell people/put on your site that orders can take longer than usual time frames. If they’re expecting an order to be shipped out two weeks from now but it gets shipped out the next day if all goes well, it can look better for you in your reviews. If not, then they can’t get mad if it takes just the time frame given when the order was placed.
Man did this video open my eyes. My thoughts were to sell my product. I will have to think about this a lot more. Thank you for this video it really helped.
Hello, thank you for this video! I hope I didn't get in on this too late but, it seems like a timeless way to make money in today's world. I don't know what to make! Nobody thinks I can make income to help the family with the Cricut. 🙃 I believe I can. You have done it💯
It's a Saturday.. my only day off every week. I should be doing laundry, house cleaning, and food prep. Instead, I've been binge watching your videos half the day!! Just found you today, and can't thank you enough for all the valuable and straight forward information you pack into your videos. You are a fantastic teacher!! 👏 😁💖
I am new to the Cricut Universe and have been watching numerous You Tubers for assistance; You are by FAR the BEST trainer I have encountered!! You are crystal clear, organized, knowledgeable, and amazingly candid in a non/threatening way. Wow! I am a subscriber for LIFE!!
Angie, this was very helpful and I'd very much appreciate a series. I'm seriously considering starting a business and need lots of information. Thank you for your generosity.
I just bought the Cricut Maker and have been watching dozens RU-vid videos. This is by far the best I've seen. Your video was clear and concise. You shared a lot of information that I would not have thought of otherwise and that I haven't come across elsewhere. Thank you so much. I look forward to watching your other videos.
Angie, Thank you for the in-depth information on considering starting a crafting business. You mentioned a variety of items that I haven’t thought about. I love your straight forward approach to your videos!
Girl you have some of the best videos on RU-vid!! I watch a lot of videos so I’m speaking from a big ocean of videos. Your smart, your thorough and well spoken. I appreciate the links below your videos and your opinions. Thanks for being consistent with uploading and your videos!! I always come away from your videos with new info.
A series would be great. This is the most informative video I've seen about making money with Cricut or even about running your own business. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. We really appreciate you!! Subscribed...of course!
I really enjoyed your video. Tons of great information! I ran my own Cricut business for about 3 years. I can relate to you having to make sure if it's something that you have the energy and drive to stick with. So many people want to jump into selling without realizing just how much work it really takes. I didn't have trouble getting orders, I had trouble finding the time and energy to keep up with them while being a mom to 2 toddlers. Now I'm giving blogging and RU-vid a go! You're an inspiration
Thanks Angie - this was incredibly thorough and sincere. I love your warnings about going for high profit - high volume. I imagine this is the most appealing to a new business but also a double-edged sword. When you stop enjoying what you do, you're done. Absolutely amazing advice in this video, even for those of us not looking to set up an Etsy business or trade commercially. Thank you again
Thank you for this, my husband, kids, family and friends keep telling me to open an etsy shop but to tell you the truth it scares me because I don't want to get into the custom orders. I love to do paper crafts like mini albums, exploding boxes, cards, and 3D projects. I would like it if I could just make what I want and if they like it they could buy it.
Thank god for you! You’ve done a cracking job of this video, I run my own business already so I know all this but I wanted to check I hadn’t missed anything! I see so many people in the U.K. thinking they have a business selling things for £1 and then months down the line they don’t know why they are 1. Broke or 2. Not selling stuff when they’ve basically just copied everyone else and selling naf stuff that isn’t quality or unique. I am inclined to share your video in the groups rather than try and explain myself, you’ve done it far more succinctly and it’s obvious you have a wealth of experience. Nice job! Thank you!
I had same issues with my small business. I applied for a grant and got a boost. Try the rfu grants too. I'm contemplating on applying again because it was fast.
Yes, please make this a series! I just got my first Cricut this past weekend and would love to one day have my own Etsy shop as a “side hustle”. I am still in the early phases of experimenting with what crafts I would like to include, etc. I have been binging some of your tutorial videos the last couple days and really enjoy them! You explain everything so well. Also can I just say your craft room is GOALS 🙃
thank you for your honesty and such helpful step by step info! i wish more people were this open and honest and committed to helping others get started! thank you again!
Thank you for this video! I've been thinking about a lot of this but I've just been too scared to start...I haven't even thought about what IF I actually take off and get busy 😅 so the making sure you like what you do idea is definitely on my mind now
Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial! While I was watching it I was able to make my simple little project so I can finish another project with it. This is the best video I've ever seen I just got a circuit New Year's Eve. Thanks again you're awesome your videos are awesome I'll keep watching.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is so insightful. I'm considering creating a small business and this was very helpful. Yes Yes Yes please if you have time make this a series.
This is a timely topic for me. I am seriously considering selling some things on Etsy. I know it is pretty hard to get started though. I don't think Etsy's search engine is very equitable to beginners. They are pushing shops that have already made a lot of sales. I don't expect to make a lot of money. It is more just because I love making things, it gives my crafting some puppose, and it can help offset the amount of money I am spending on my crafting habit. I am starting with cards and other paper cutting things because the supplies don't cost a fortune, shipping is pretty inexpensive and easy.i also love paper outs. It was the whole reason I got the Cricut to begin with. I could make that kind of stuff all day long.
Great video, thanks. I sell a few things but only to work colleagues at present. I work full time but really need to craft more than work ☺ but need my job to fund my craft....I'm on Etsy with a couple of things but no sales yet ☹. You've definitely made me think about stuff and I'm also going to look at your links attached to the video. Thanks again 👍
@@AngieHolden have a question, im about to start listing things in my brand new Etsy shop! Have you tried the Etsy Sell app? I read several reviews and they are either love or hate… more hate than love. What are your thoughts?
Thank you, Angie! This was great! I just started my Etsy business right before Thanksgiving. I use FB and Instagram to market my shop and my products but I’m having difficulty with making more sales. I really want this to be my side hustle. Do you have any advice for getting things to progress? Would you also talk more about how to find your niche?
Have someone that will be honest with you critique your shop. Are your photos good? Do the descriptions read well? Is everything in them? You could also ask former customers for feedback on your product to see where to improve. Then I think I would do a lot of research on Etsy SEO. You should be able to find some free resources online to get you started.
I would definitely start with 1 or 2 types of items. But say you are selling shirts, you could have several varieties of that shirt. So, several different quotes on shirts for instance but all shirts.
Amazing video! Very helpful! My question is - how to start growing your email list, if you only sell on etsy, Instagram and Facebook (do not have a website with a sign-up form yet)? Thank you!
Most email programs will allow you to host a sign up form through them! It used to be that mail chimp was the best to start with but they changed their free starter package and it is not that great any more. You might still look them up or mad mimi is another I liked in the past.
This was very helpful, I've been hearing people talking about the profits but not the hustle. I listen closely on the tips but I'm still wondering about the shipping process, can you give some advice about how to ship the product? Thank you very much.
I only have the Cricut Joy and want to make cards to sell locally and give to friends and family. I world like to put my logo on the back of my greeting cards, are there videos on how to do that? Also packaging them? How much to charge? ...thank you for your advice. I like all your videos.
I think I would invest in a custom stamp with your logo and stamp the back of each. It would be quick and easy. I would invest in packaging that is sturdy so they don't get bent in the mail. As well as DO NOT BEND stickers or stamps. Maybe take a look at similar cards and see what they go for then see what your costs are and if that lines up?
I 'm trying to figure out why my prints are not transferring. I have Hippo ink in my Epson ET2760, I use A-Sub paper, and I've been using the recommended heat/time/pressure settings. I've tried all sorts of blanks, sublimation mugs from Michaels, 100% polyester shirts. Nothing shows up, not even a faint outline....Help
Sounds like maybe you were using a printer that had regular ink in it at one time or you were shipped the wrong ink. You have something wrong where you are not getting sublimation ink.
thank you, very helpful. I have issues with calibration saving for print then cut. ( I have a maker 3). I follow the whole process and at the end when I am satisfied and need to save, it jumps out of the window. I tried with different laptops and even different maker machines! all have the same issue! Do you guys have any tips?
I have been told before, "find a need and fill it" but it is hard to know if there is a need or if no one is selling that product because no one wants it. How can we find out where there is a need to fill?
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. I have an etsy shopping but my sells have not come from etsy. Do you have any tips on how to get sells on etsy?
@@AngieHolden I’ve been watching many more of your videos and had I waited you do show that answer. I guess I’m too anxious and want to learn everything too quick. This Cricut Maker 3 seems to do a lot for sure.
Thanks so much for this info! I’m curious about the earning potential. I know it depends on the individual and how they optimize the tools and resources available, etc...but I wonder if there is a resource to see earnings estimates for successful businesses like this. How did you first learn how much you could make? Did you start slow with local sales and then extrapolate that out to a larger scale?
Hi Angie, love your RU-vid channel and this video is very helpful! You've mentioned, that you have Shopify store and sell digital products and also sell them on social platforms. Is there a way to sell digital products on Instagram and Facebook shops? I have Shopify store, but it allows to sell only physical products on IG and FB stores(( How to do it? Thank you!
Correct! On IG and FB you can only sell physical goods. BOO! You can, however, share a listing from your shopify onto your FB page or IG page and direct people to shopify to buy. I don't have my items in an actual store on IG or FB.
I bought a Cricut to start a small at home business but I'm kind of lost as to where to start, could you be please give me an idea of where to start, thank you
Hi Angie ! I've been wanting to start a business with my crafts and I looked at Etsy, Ebay etc but they all want fees to get started and as of right now I cannot do that . What would be the easiest way to get started ?
Etsy is like 40 cents per listing. I find it is the cheapest to start with a store. If you don't want to do that, start with Facebook marketplace which is free!
Thank u so much for the details , seems very important for me . I want to have a small business for my self, but I afraid what to do first and last . I was thinking for images that I upload from Cricut or google , ( I don’t know how I recognize the free ones to use for business )I wish if I live close to your house to talk to u all time any time, just kidding 😄 but I need help
For Cricut, if you pay for Access, everything but the licensed characters falls under the Angel policy and you can sell. If you are googling for an image, click over to the website and read their terms of use.
@@AngieHolden sorry this was about the different blanks. I have a specific logo with certain colors and would like to replicate it with infusible ink on a mug.
Be VERY CAREFUL about wording or images, people are trademarking a lot of commonly used things, and one is even trying to trademark BIBLE PHRASES! If someone files a trademark violation against you on Etsy, Etsy will shut down your Etsy shop with NO VERIFICATION OF THE VALIDITY OF THE CLAIMS AGAINST YOU. Sometimes it turns out your accuser doesn’t even have the trademark, or hasn’t had their application accepted yet. I’ve had friends whose shops were shut down by competitors this way. Also make sure to have liability insurance!
I was very interested in what you had to say but there are way too many adds that would come up right in the middle of what you were saying and it is way to distracting. I could not even finish this video because of all the interruptions. :(
@@AngieHolden thank you, I learned a lot from you. It’s so confusing because you see it everyday on Etsy. I don’t think I will ever sell professionally but I have always been so fascinated how people like yourself start a blog and a business. Proud of you
