Hey Frontline gang!
Welcome back to my channel, thank you for all the support so far, you guys are a amazing. For my new subscribers; welcome to this new community of space for frontline stories. In this video, I share the potential earnings of a UK agency nurse vs a full time band5 NHS nurse salary. If you are not familiar with agenda for change, make sure you watch the video to the end as i explain how nurses who work for the NHS are paid.The agenda for change pay system covers all staff except doctors, dentists and very senior managers. Each of the nine pay bands has a number of pay points. Staff will normally progress to the next pay point annually until they reach the top of the pay band. In addition to basic pay, there is also extra pay for staff who work in high cost areas such as around London. if you work as an agency nurse, what are some of the tips you recommend for anyone thinking of joining a nursing agency.
I listed some of the pros and cons of working as an Agency nurse and full time nurse in the U.K. based on personal experience. Enjoy this video and please give this video a thumbs up 👍🏽. Thank you family.

Thank you for your educative contents. Do you think it will be easier for a NMC pre registered nurse (awaiting OSCE) to get a NHS sponsorship jobs while he/she is in UK as a dependent?

I am a agency RMN now. I used to be NHS nurse in my home town then i moved to agency nurse. We used to get loads of shift before then slowly it started going down to now we are struggling to get shift..My local Nhs have recuited lots of nurses from south India and also some from Africa. We agency nurses for local nhs hospital are now fighting and strugling for shift. Agency pays more but no gurantee of shifts. Especially with lots of international recuitmemt happening.

Hi Fray! Let's say you're a newly grad nurse with over one year experience in your home country, how long would you advise one to practice in the UK before working as an Agency Nurse?
@frontlinegist1225

6months is fine as long as u research the department you are going to. Make sure you are super confident and ready because some people may not be confident or assertive and as agency nurse you need to be very confident with your clinical skills as they tend to judge easily when u are an agency nurse so yea u must know your stuff

I would also add to this to make sure you clearly understand the difference between being qualified and proficient. It is imperative to have a union and indemnity insurance in place (an NMC requirement for revalidation). Remember that nursing is a life-long career. As agency/locum, people will be quick to judge and report you for any mistakes that are made, also worth researching why people have been struck off from the NMC - look for trends and increase your knowledge in key areas of work as part of your continued professional development.

Hi dear, my question is am self employed in private homes in Dubai, I work as a caregiver, my care manager left and also working with NHS trust Scotland, can I use him to refference me. Or it's not allowed.

Hi Aurther You can still use your previous manager eventhough he'd left your company as long as he or she can state that you worked together then thats fine

If am under nhs sponsorship and wanna join agency...will it affect my career???
@AP-kl3tf
@AP-kl3tf Год назад
-Check your contract and terms of reference, your sponsorship may have a clause restricting you to a certain amount of hours overtime each week (e.g 20hrs) - or it may even prevent you from working external to the NHS Trust. If you’re unsure speak to your international recruitment lead or HR - The last thing you want is your sponsorship visa being revoked!

If they are in dire need of nurses how come none of the trusts has offered me a job for the past 3 months. I have passed the required exams and completed the first stage of NMC registration.

Most NHS trusts use value-based interview questions alongside some clinical skills. If you have been unsuccessful in your application/interviewing ask for feedback. Also, it is important to include a wealth of supportive information alongside evidence of continued professional development etc. Additionally, it will depend on how many applicants they receive, your experience and the funding capacity for that oragnisation.
