In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how to make organization charts in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. We also look at how you can make your org chart available in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and even on Office.com using the People Graph.

I couldn't locate the spot for adding a manager in web outlook. I added my own manager and checked again on the web and there is still nothing showing? I do have admin privileges. Any thoughts?

Thank you Kevin. Great video. I have been doing charts recently in MS Word and struggling with adding shapes etc. Didn’t realise there were so many options and loved the shortcut at the start of the video of simply doing a list of names with indents and then copying into Smart Art. I often look at your videos but don’t comment. Full of respect for you in your decision to focus on your channel and leave your position at Microsoft (and you did a video on why you did this). Very informative and useful video. Thank you for sharing. Kevin, not related to org chart, but how did you come up with a Yellow circle frame around you for recording? I have gone through the obs videos, but I would like to know how to change the rectangular frame to a circular one while recording using OBS. Looking forward to your help here. Many thanks! :)

Those work fine and adjust their sizes in a smart way, are easily editable etc., but after a certain amount of members in a given org chart, they show some of the weaknesses, like how limiting their layouts are and how poor their space usage is in favour of the wow factor. I liked the fast click away when the 2/5 visio rating on the store was visible :D

Right on time! Assignment due in 12 hours😅😨 Do you know the reason for Ms Excel consistently freezing with windows 11? (Once a cell is clicked to enter a character it keeps looping-non responsive message) and has been like this for over 24 hours....

Haha you're still the boss. I'm trying to access the templates in Visio on the web but there are none for org charts. When I search for organization it says there are more hits than are being shown to me, and as I click to read more it says I need a Visio subscription 2 to use org charts.

Why is the 365 org chart not more available as a full size view like the visio example? It seems like you need to use 3rd party tools to get a better visualization

Spooky timing as I’ve been doing just this using AD at work, we used power shell to update staff contact details in AD. Haven’t tried linking it with Visio though will definitely give it a go now!

For Visio, Microsoft has changed it to only for organization and school use, but my school disabled the store option so I can't install the plug-in.

Thanks! Good audio is the most important for a video. Used a boom mic (Sennheiser MKH-50) positioned close to my mouth just out of frame, have acoustic panels on my walls, and then edit the audio (e.g., compressor, equalizer, de-esser, noise reduction, set levels appropriately).

Blue screen usually includes an error code that will help you track down the specific issue. There are many potential causes for the screen to appear.

Get everyone to do it and fill in what they think are the duties, job-scope, responsibilities, accountability, delegated-powers, authorised-functions, transparency-accountability, authorisation-responsibility, delegation-accountability(your boss lazy), ... accounting standards of checks-and-balances applied to organisational-structure. Kevin, it would be interesting to know how to create an interactive org chart in SharePoint using the Org Chart Webpart. I understand this can be done using Azure directory, but perhaps the Kevin Cookie Company's IT staff doesn't have the capacity to populate the needed manager information in Azure. So could a small department leader who would like to impress CEO Patti Fernandez create this SharePoint Organization Chart webpart using a SharePoint List instead? Or would they still need someone with admin privileges to help them with configuration? As you know, the Kevin Cookie Company has lots of SharePoint functionality locked down for lower level employees for security or control purposes, so if these lowly employees in distant departments can do things themselves with less IT support, that often is more successful. Thoughts?

R Silva ~ If you have an HP printer, you open your “Control Panel” and double-click on “Devices and Printers” then double-click on your printer it will open several options that can be selected. Of those options, double-click on the option named “HP Printer Status and Alerts”. The screen that opens, in the “Known Printers” window, will list your printer. Double-click on your printer and the next screen will show the status of all the ink cartridges of that printer. If you are not using an HP printer, I would think you would still be able to access the information you want to see. Good Luck, Fred
