omg i did that too! i drew my entire friend group when i was younger and i made them into ocs. the ocs have all developed into entirely different people
This was actually so helpful to me, I'm always telling myself I shouldn't make any more OC's just because I have ones I like, but you're right!! I should just have fun, and if they need to be a void, then they ARE!! Thank you! ❤
I'm currently trying to come up with 2 Characters for a fight animation that I Story-boarded. Hearing about your process and thoughts has been really helpful, thanks for this video!
Loved the video!!! Ur designs are all so good!! I loved getting to do the Pinterest board challenge with u, I treasure the OC from the board u made me 💕
I am currently making a living ribbon that can change shapes as she sees. She can cut her ribbon appendages to make new limbs. She uses spiders from her own ribbons to collect materials for her, She can turn into a human form to walk around cities but to not cause suspicions says she has to be wrapped in bandages due to a burn that covers her body.
I have made ocs based on a song alone just because it sounded cool to me💀. But usually what happens is I make a story and then make the designs around it. I haven't even drawn most of my OCS because I'm so lazy with making them. And then other times I make OCs based on my dreams and it's really fun cause I have very weird dreams. When I make a character design first it usually just stays in a vacuum.
@@twizzlindoodz thanks! I thought a lot of people do it. But I guess not. Makes sense that people don't have interesting enough dreams to do that. I mean, I had a dream where Morgan Freeman beat up emo Ed Sheeran. One of the weirdest dreams I've ever had
I think that finding a program that you enjoy using helps a lot- i use procreate on my ipad now which is only $10 but I used to use medibang paint on my computer which I think might still be free?? but genuinely just test out different free programs and see what you like before investing in a subscription/ paying for a program you don't know if you'll like. Apps like sketchbook pro are great starting points! Also be mindful of viruses and stuff if you're downloading programs online! apps seem a lot more secure and that's mainly what I used to use.
The third way is literally what i've been doing this entire time lol, the lore stewing is also really accurate, like i'm doing anything that doesn't require much attention and my mind just not there lol
My 2 most liked ocs by my followers were created COMPLETELY ON ACCIDENT while practicing posing when I was first learning (Poptart the Sparkledog/wolf {not technically but based off one} and keys the wolf {who I can actually voice})
Awesome video. Also designing characters from Pinterest is fun. I partook in it when it was going around RU-vid as a challenge years back. It was great. 😊😊😊.
I'm so glad you liked the video! I feel like making characters out of pinterest boards was super popular in 2016 and I'm only now seeing more of them now with youtubers like pricklyalpaca and lilstarnerd. But it's fun!! idk why everyone stopped
