You recipes are so great. You cook just like my Mom used to cook. I miss her cooking. I will be making a lot of your recipes. I love the way how detailed you are with your cooking steps. Thank you.
I pick the rocks out of my Pinto Beans, plus I wash in warm Salt water and soak my beans overnight. To me it lessens gassy feeling. I love watching your cooking shows. You’re the best cook. ❤❤
Oh yes just read a comment from another lady, yes I've added some green bell pepper to my Pinto beans before not much any where from 1 /2 or 1/4 of one. Can't wait to go back to the store get another pkg to add some green b-peppers to with some pig feet. Love them too. Oh by the way this is country cooking to this white girl. P.S love your style and your personality Ms Chris, THKs
Hurst’s HamBeens are the best IMO, but they WILL have rocks and dirt in them, so YES pick em and wash em! I’m glad you mentioned about the salt splitting the beans 😮, and the floating beans, my grandma picked those out too!Thank you for sharing, and breaking the process down! Peace and blessings! 👩🏾🍳🤎👩🏾🍳🤎👩🏾🍳🤎
I ❤️ Hurst HamBeens, agree. I've been lucky 🍀 in not finding rocks or dirt so far but still stop & look for any foreign material cuz I don't wanna eat dirt or bite into a rock & I sure have found both in plain Ole bean packets
I literally had a bag of these beans in my hand yesterday at the grocery store! I was deciding between these or black beans. I went with the black beans and made black bean soup but now I wish I had gone with the pintos because these look delicious. I will be going back this week to get the pintos and smoked meat though. Thanks Chris! 😁
Hi Ms Chris I love pinto beans. I made some a few days ago and yesss they were amazingly delicious. I took a tip from you and didn’t add any salt until the very end; however I didn’t need but a tiny bit of salt because my smoke turkey and smoked pork I used were salty enough. I also cooked mine in my pressure cooker. Hope you had a wonderful start of in this new year. I pray this year all your endeavors are blessed and favored by the Lord. Keep up the fantastic work. Looking forward to more delicious recipes 💜💜💜
# one all the way!! your take on this is the one i grew up with. unsoupy beans should be outlawed. Godbless you for showing others how it can tast so much better.

Oh my! My husband and I just saw this, and his mouth is watering. Lol I suppose we are going to the store tomorrow and will pick up everything we need. We love all of your recipes, and I share this channel with others. Your amazing 👏 ✨️ ❤️ God bless you and your family. Sending you a big hug from Texas.
Ms Chris, did I miss the package of onion soup mix . I heard you mention the season from the beans and the salt, pepper plus garlic powder. I fixed a pot two days ago. I added diced onions smoked neck bones they had quite a bit meat on them, I waited to add my salt and black pepper and bit of garlic powder. I didn't have a package in mine guess that one missed the package. But man where they good. For got to mention cooked mine in a stove top Pressure cooker.
Those look delicious! I’ll have to try the onion soup. I sauté onions, garlic and cilantro and jalapeño in bacon and add to my pintos for my Mexican husband.😅I use ham hock or hog jowl too and they’re so good 🤤
I always wash boil and rinse my beans period because it cuts down on bloating indigestion. The bubbles is what I don't want by the time I rinse soak and cook I don't have that. You can also use a large spoon to remove the foam and bubbles. And I soak a d slow cook my smoked meat to keep it tender. When I boil it it taste boiled a little overcooked and and flavor is lost.
Hi again Ms Chris I’ve already posted but I wanted to add that I also used red & green bell peppers & onions in my pinto peppers beans. I was just wondering have you ever used bell peppers & onions in your beans; they are very delicious & give a vibrant pretty color to the beans. Give it a try sometimes. I just wanted to share one of my tips since you always share great recipes. Be blessed 😇😇
